Yup, Lansing was a great haul. The Shadowman #0 gold for 50 cents was the highlight of my trip. You and the boys can have the shops from Detroit to Cleveland. Being from West Michigan, I grant myself the rest of the state

Just completed my run of Psi lords and Timewalker. Not trying to complete a run of every single Valiant obscurity. By luck I almost have 3 60 issue complete runs of Solar. Slowly completing X-0 (V1) now. Still sampling VH2 issues.

While I was collecting Dell Turoks in Kalamazoo, a 22 year old guy with his girlfriend and Valiant checklist beat me to a nice copy of x-o #1 for 25 cents. I had the issue anyways.

Just took a ride over to the LCS in the next town. Nice visit as I used to have my subscriptions with the owner several years ago. Most of the local shops around this area are not heavily into backstock issues as they also have fantasy items, gaming tables etc.
Did real well, and according to the owner he hasn't had any Valiant action lately. I will almost always buy pre-unity's no matter what if I find them on the cheap so I bought most of what I could find in the 20 minutes I had to shop while wife and kids waited.

I found:

XO #4,5,6 all NM
XO 1/2 reg NM
XO #0 Gold NM nice

All for $9.50, makes me feel like the drive was worth it.

yes knight deathmate COUNTS! (gimme a break dude-it's on the checklist and i have it!!!)

thus completing my deathmate collection! yes! i got all the golds, all the previews and even a tourbook!

i even have a sealed box of cards!

i guess i'll need a signed tourbook next.

Snagged a Unity Red yesterday for 2 bucks.
Unity 2000 #1, 2(bagged), and 3 for 50 cents a piece.
Harbinger #5 for a buck.
Shadowman #2 for a buck.
and a bunch of others I can't remember right now, including some of the last Acclaim issues.

Yeah, I'm there all the time. Already got their flagship. Did you get those from the Spring store? I called, they said they had some, but no Pre-Unitys. I took them for their word. The Clearlake store said they had nothing. Troy's had some decent stuff on the cheap, Third Planet (God I hate them!) had some under priced pre-unity stuff, and Nan's has some good stuff, but they seem to know it all too well. Midnight said they gave all their stuff to a library (!!!!). Did you find something at some flea market or that hole in the wall shop in Alameda Mall?

ARRGH!!!! It's driving me insane!!

By the way on a slight tangent, I was in the Bedrock flagship today preaching the Valiant gospel. They hadn't seen the Wizard or eBay auctions and didn't believe me at first, but they did say they have a handful of people asking for Pre-Unity stuff at any price! If your looking to sell or trade I think they are an open market right now.

I recently picked up a bunch of Deathmate Golds (about 10 blacks, 3 blues, 3 yellows, etc.) for $2 a piece. Picked up Unity 1 Gold and Unity 1 Platinums for $1 a piece.

(Also a dozens of Image platinums and golds, 30 cent variants, Cerebus Zero Gold, Aliens Platinum Edition, etc. for $2 a piece.)

Seemed like a good deal at the time...
