What's going on with the Harbinger 7 flamingo cover?

Two days ago, out of the blue... I received a box from DCBS (whom I get my monthly books from), containing one comic book, Harbinger #7, Flamingo variant cover. I did not order a variant cover. I order two of every issue every month, but no variants as they are out of my price range. So, this singular comic showing up at my house was a pleasant, yet confusing, surprise.

Having just checked my DCBS 'order form', I notice there is the Flamingo cover having been 'ordered' on 10/15/2012 for the price of $2.59.

Confusing.

If I recall, at the time the Flamingo variant was going to be the pullbox variant, or something like that.
