Looks like the 1977 Green Bay Packers offensive line reunion. How tall are you dudes, anyway?
I don't remember that pic being taken, but anyways, does anyone remember who took it, Brian? Greg?
But anyway, 1977 was a fun year, 88 was great to, either way.

So... no Lombardi's pizza while all of us VALIANT fans play poker???
Seriously though, I hope everything is OK with everyone personally, John, and that we can do this sometime, one way or the other. I sure did have a blast last year.........

The National will still be held at the Penn Plaza on Nov 16-18 of this year...mrwoogieman wrote:![]()
I heard a rumor that Big Apple Con was booted from the Penn Pavilion site due to the building being sold and a renovation planned. I had heard that the June show was the last one at that location.
Could be that they have not yet secured an alternate location for the Nov/07 National show?

Obviously there were some major issues or John wouldn't have pulled the plug on the show. As usual, I was planning on attending and really looking forward to this show.
I don't think anyone who wasn't at the last show has any idea of the level of planning and organization that John puts into this show. I couldn't believe how organized he was at the first show and from what I have heard he had planned on this one being bigger and better.
John will surely let us know why when the time comes, it's just unfortunate that he felt compelled to make this decision for whatever reason.

There is definitely nothing stopping anyone from meeting up at the con in November - but I think guys like BTE will have a tougher time convincing their significant other to go across the country when the VALIANT panel is gone.
As far as I know, my place to stay is free. I am down for pizza at Lombardi's and cards over beer, V-panel or no.

I was in NYC for the National last November and it is a great time to be in the city, although very expensive. It is the beginning of the whole "Christmas in NY" thing with all the shops looking great and the outdoor skating rinks open and setting up for the Macy's parade going on. I only spent a three or four hours at the show and one of them was with John (svair), Brian (chainnball), and Mike McGuire (madman?) at lunch. The rest of the weekend Lori and I spent cruizing around the city shopping, a show on Broadway, etc.
Personally I was coming to this show probably alone for some VALIANTfans.com comraderie and such, and that is why I probably will skip the city in November. I think instead I'll head in again in Feb for the NycComicon at the Javitz maybe and plan ahead for San Diego next year.
If for some reason John revives the Nov. show, I will be there though.
