400yrs wrote:Green Lantern Emerald Dawn - Good story. I think this is the last of the GL that I have so I'm finally starting the Sinestro Copr War (if I don't keep buying earlier stuff like I have been lately).
Ronin - Still trying to make my way through this. I'm in the middle of issue 3. This is the kind of book that makes me want to stop reading comics altogether. I probably won't finish this series so that I can read better stuff .... unless someone here says that it gets a hell of a lot better near the end.
Just finish it to finish it.

I read the first issue of Big Hero 6 and just felt like I was being patronised. So many cliches in such a short space of time.Doorman wrote:So Chris Claremont's Big Hero 6 was indeed a big yawn.
Kaare Andrew's Spider-Man: Reign is shaping up to be a cool homage to Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns.
After this, destroying Exiles and the majority of his recent stuff, Marvel need to consider Claremont's position.
I guess with their current output though...

OK, MOST of their books... and Rai ended up being "absorbed" by Magnus, RF.Elveen wrote:slym2none wrote:Counterpoint - VALIANT had endings for their books.Elveen wrote:But I think Crossgen had better stories towards the end.

Really? Not all of them. What books had endings?
Shadowman had an ending. I guess X-O too. what other books?

His Daredevil run is some of the finest comic storytelling ever.Doorman wrote:Miller's way over-rated. Most of his stuff I have to fight to read through. Haven't read Ronin but, that goes for the Dark Knight Returns and 300.400yrs wrote:Ronin - Still trying to make my way through this. I'm in the middle of issue 3. Yep. And I really loved DKR. Ronin is just uninteresting to me.Lightning Strike wrote:His Daredevil run is some of the finest comic storytelling ever.Doorman wrote:Miller's way over-rated. I have to admit, even I liked what I read of his Daredevil run.Lightning Strike wrote:His Daredevil run is some of the finest comic storytelling ever.Doorman wrote:Miller's way over-rated. The Avengers brand is very watered down with all the different adjective Avengers. I can't wait to see what the next great "adjective Avengers" title is. Personally, I'm rooting for Light n' Fluffy Avengers. Bendis fans would eat that *SQUEE* up.Jay Tomio wrote:As much as I have enjoyed the Dark Reign material thus far (DA, NA, Thunderbolts, Deadpool etc) I think the Mighty Avengers has been absolute rubbish.

I'm trying to work together a brief pun involving "Avengers Nights" - an allusion to the short-lived spin-off Baywatch Nights, a show that followed the adventures of the Hoff's character in his night job as a private detective.
Could he be a lifeguard by day and a private detective at night? Absolutely; he's the HOFF*.
* - Hoff's powers greatest while in Northern Europe, the cradle of his greatest adulation.

Even though I dislike the majority of his stuff I am trying Morrison's Seven Soldiers because I am a fan of Zatanna and Mr Miracle and I am hoping he doesn't ruin them for me.
Going in with some seriously low expectations so there is the chance I will be pleasantly surprised.
#0 done so far and it was okay. Nothing special, just okay.

i just finished seasons of the mist. it wasn't as good a dream country imo.
i still like the interaction b/w dream and his fam, but that wasn't enough to carry the book for me.
midsummer's night's dream and dream of a thousand cats were fabulous.
now, i wake my cat up periodically through the day-just in case.
DKR was a yawn? wow. i thought it was a great batman story as well as a great commentary on the world at the same time.
i really enjoyed ronin as well. it's a little complex, but the story-telling was unique and laid the foundation for miller's story telling in DKR.

I just read All Star Superman volume 1 and Pride Of Baghdad. Pride was very interesting. It's absolutely not what one would expect and the illustrations are wonderful. I was less impressed with ASSM, but it wasn't bad. I took a look at Top Ten. I will need to read a bit further. Having read 2 more issues of DMZ, I am still not sold on it. I wish I could find the rest of 100 Bullets. That had me interested.

Top 10 is good. I also really enjoyed the Smax mini. These are books that I am not going to sell, for sure re-reads.xodacia81 wrote:I just read All Star Superman volume 1 and Pride Of Baghdad.
