$3.99 x1 a month
$2.99 x2 a month
Which is really cheaper? Dan, I'm not fooled. I'm out. I'd rather Action and Detective start back up where they left off as well, resume vol1. That's the reason for VOLUMES. Dido is trying to have his cake and eat it too while fooling us that our comic buying is now cheaper.

If the quality is there, I don't mind paying the bimonthly difference. Because I'm only getting 3 titles TOPS.

Re: DC Comics Relaunching Everything In June
I think this was pretty inevitable given the current sales on DC as a whole. It's a shot in the arm and hopefully one that is handled better than the New 52 (it felt rushed, but had a few real gems in there). I'm also welcoming of the price decrease across the board.
Now, will this ultimately be a smart move? Maybe. It is definitely a move they wont be able to pull too many more times. But I do hope that they integrate some of their properties better into the universe as a whole.

Re: DC Comics Relaunching Everything In June
This right here. DC's world feels so small after tossing everything out and not building anything back in. So that is a hope. Especially with Geoff Johns talking legacies.Michael Woods wrote: But I do hope that they integrate some of their properties better into the universe as a whole.

Re: DC Comics Relaunching Everything In June
Random update, originally it was said Scott Snyder was on Detective, twice a month, this has been confirmed to have been happening. It's not anymore. Snyder plain doesn't want to do twice a month and doesn't want to steal Tom Kings thunder on Batman. So Snyder get's his own book where he can go monthly and still do the story he was planning. So still kind of stealing thunder.

Re: DC Comics Relaunching Everything In June
So DC is going back to the original # on detective....
I have a complete run of Batman 324 to 713, the last issue, and detective 486 to 881, the last issue. I took it as a slap in the face to collectors to stop these two titles. That insult made me stopped buying monthly comics and I haven't since. I have purchased the new 52 Batman trades off Amazon, which are good, but I'm still glad I stopped buying DC monthly comics.
Now more insults...
1. Going back the the original #s and including the new 52 in the #s. Why not just start back at 881.
2. Going back to the original #s on Detective and not Batman! Who collected Detective growing up, but not Batman. Why not do both.
What type of collector are they trying to win back?
DC.... I just don't trust them.

Let's be honest it was going to happen eventually. They weren't going to pass up the possible #1000 sales. They're just following Marvels lead on this. Double shipping to get there faster, relaunching to eek out the number, cancel and relaunch with the same exact team to get the number #1 sales.Aport wrote:So DC is going back to the original # on detective....![]()

Re: DC Comics Relaunching Everything In June
What they could have done for Action Comics and Detective Comics start the numbering where vol. 1 left off and for one year to each title as a weekly series (maybe even lowing the price down to $2.99 to make it up too fans) and then after the 52 issues bring each series back to monthly status. Then just declare the New 52 issues as pair of maxi-series.dornwolf wrote:Let's be honest it was going to happen eventually. They weren't going to pass up the possible #1000 sales. Re: DC Comics Relaunching Everything In June
The only thing I would be interested in is Swamp Thing. The current series blows hard, I quit after two issues. That's really the only title I'd be curious about and I have very little hope that they will actually do the character any justice.

I'm quite surprised by the All-Star name as it doesn't exactly bring up good times with Batmans name attached.ShadowTuga wrote:http://www.newsarama.com/28577-the-new- ... llery.html

Here's the full list of titles and creators. Some noticeable things worth pointing out.
-Dicks back in the Nightwing gear and it's BLUE and BLACK again. It also continues the Grayson story with the main goal being, "Be better than Batman"
-As mention Tom Kings on Batman
-Tynion is on Detective with Batwoman, Spoiler, Cassandra Cain, Clayface oddly enough, and Tim Drake back in the family in his Robin gear but still Red Robin
- Dan Jurgens is on Action with Pre-52 Superman, Lois and their son Jon. Supermans clearly de-aged and repowered with a new suit similar to the movie except with blue boots. Also Lex is rocking Super-man armor
-Peter Tomasi is on Superman with the same setup just add Doomsday and "Clark Kent"
- Flash is the same basically except that Kid Flash is back it is Wally (he's still black) they really didn't have much of a choice really
-Venditti is still rocking Green Lantern, he's got all the Lantersn except for the new ones as...
- Sam Humphries is on Green Lanterns which features Jessica Cruz and Simon Baz
- Greg Rukas on Wonder Woman again.
-Jamie Reyes Blue Beetle is back with Ted Kord as his tutor
-Christopher Priest (ya that one) is on Deathstroke
- Batman Beyond is sticking around but Terry is coming back
- finally Super-Sons is Supermans son and Damian teaming up (this honestly sounds more fun than it should be)

I am very tempted by Nightwing, WW and the Titans book (not Teen Titans) besides my Bat-books - 'tec is apparently a direct continuation of B&R Eternal (Cassie) or am I totally wrong?! Clayface??? Tim as Red Robin but with his old clothes-WTF is going on here?) I did not read that series, hope it won't be too confusing. Awesome that Batwoman is integral to the book. Just not excited at all about the writer.

Apparently yes. He's being replaced more or less by pre-fp Papa SupermanTim wrote:sooo..........New 52 Peter Parker Superman is gone?
I'm looking at Titans specifically after I've read that Rebirth directly affects Flash and Titans. Leading me to believe quite strongly that despite Nu-Wally being around it's all possible that OG Wally West is storming back in to existence.ShadowTuga wrote:dornwolf wrote:I'm quite surprised by the All-Star name as it doesn't exactly bring up good times with Batmans name attached.ShadowTuga wrote:http://www.newsarama.com/28577-the-new- ... llery.html

If I have the money I MIGHT give Detective Comics a look because I'm a huge fan of Batwoman (I would rather see her in her own series again) but I'm not 100% sure about the premise they got though.

Batman looks great and I am glad they are doing rotating artists on each arc instead of two different artists every month.
Trinity will probably be good.
Obviously going to read Deathstroke.
Nightwing I will try the first arc or two and see from there.
Everything else looks a bit *SQUEE*

I'll just be grabbing Batman and All Star Batman. I lost a lot of trust in DC with Swamp Thing and Green Lantern. They started out so strong in the new 52 but ended abysmal.

I thought V-Ditty was killing on his GL book, according to what I see posted in other forums.QUARTZ wrote:I'll just be grabbing Batman and All Star Batman. I lost a lot of trust in DC with Swamp Thing and Green Lantern. They started out so strong in the new 52 but ended abysmal.

I remember Swamp Thing and Animal Man getting high praises at the start of their runs, but there was some crossover or something that left a bad taste in the mouth of some? Again, according to other forums I read (CBR, mostly). I only read the first issues of AM. Liked it.
I honestly have a lot of faith in AS Batman. Snyder working on shorter arcs with some of the biggest names out there sounds too good to pass/tradewait. And a former CIA agent working on Batman after a very successful run on Grayson? Of course I'm in!
'Tec will be a test to Tynion's qualities as a monthly writer (B&R Eternal was weekly and a team effort) but I know that he respects these characters as much as the next batfan. He's just a bit too generic (competent?) for my taste. But with a roster that includes Spoiler, Cassie, Tim, Batwoman and Clayface maybe he'll surprise us all.
Again, I'm a Bat fanboy- I don't need much to be excited.

Re: DC Comics Relaunching Everything In June
Over at the GL CORPS message board practically nobody likes his run, or really everything happening in the book for the last few years, even when Johns was involved after the "darkest day" event played out. I don't think making Hal some kind of space bum (in an attempt to make him DC's version of Star Lord) was really appealing to a lot of people, and they've basically wiped out the Corps. It's in a very contrived place and would benefit from a "rebirth", but instead of erasing mistakes now it looks like they are compounding it more by adding even MORE Earth Green Lanterns. Every other sector of space has like one GL patrolling billions of solar systems, but Earth needs like 5 GL's for some reason? I thought they would get away from that but the new series seems to be focusing more on the second tier Lanterns. I especially hate Simon Baz, he was only made a Lantern to be edgy and controversial. It's really dumb. I will probably glance through a few issues of "rebirth" and if the art doesn't snag me I'm out.
Swamp Thing was good until Snyder left. After that it seemed like most of the horror elements left the series and they wanted to do more super hero cross over stuff which never grabbed me the same way the war against the Rot and the Anton Arcane did. Animal Man was a book that was canceled way before it's time, I thought that was still good.

Re: DC Comics Relaunching Everything In June
I've seen the comments made about Venditti's run people have not been kind about it. In his defense he followed Johns no one was going to be welcomed with open arms. Personally I only hated how he scrapped Hal and Carol even though I was never really attached to much to that relationship. As for Johns he was just in a holding pattern until he managed to get Justice League caught up. Personally I felt that he mailed it in towards the end.QUARTZ wrote:Over at the GL CORPS message board practically nobody likes his run, or really everything happening in the book for the last few years, even when Johns was involved after the "darkest day" event played out. Re: DC Comics Relaunching Everything In June
Johns was definitely phoning it in at the end of his GL run. I think he just ran out of ideas and needed to "recharge his batteries" *ahem. Venditti's run has also been plagued by the terrible art of Philip Tan. Sinestro as a whole has been better.
