That sounds like a pretty cool comic-based daytrip for both of you!
Certainly more exciting than my once-monthly trip to the comic shop anyway, as much as I look forward to that!

Maybe we can put together a library of VH1 TPBs. So swtor1091 can read the old stuff.
If you're not a *SQUEE*, you're okay with me.

Re: * * * VALIANT TPB - LENDING LIBRARY IS HERE - SIGN UP NO
Ok, first the bad news:
Dave's and my schedules couldn't mesh in time for us to meet so we decided that he would just mail the books to me. Then something happened in transit for when I received the books, there was a mysterious label on the box that said " REPAIRED AT GREENSBORO NDC". Never seen that label before. Worse still, instead of 8 books, there were only 5 books inside the box. Both Harbingers volumes and Bloodshot Vol. 1 had vanished, with no clue at to what had happened to them.
Dave wasn't at fault as he has said that packaging I received was different. I am glad that X-O Manowar Vol. 1, that has Dino and everyone's signatures, wasn't lost. Elery has graciously replaced the lost volumes and added the 2 new volumes, which I should receive soon in the mail.
Which leads me to the good:
I am so glad that I signed up for this. Mishaps will and can occur with the Post Office (though this is new one for me) but the books are in great shape, labeled as the Lending Library, and there's space on the inside back cover of each volume for you to sign your name and give a little message if you want, to pass on the love for Valiant. Even when communicating about this difficulty, Elery has been considerate, helpful, understanding, and going above and beyond to keep this library on the road. Terrific idea and leadership all around.
(BTW I was going to go by my PO this week to ask about that mysterious label, just to find out exactly what it means)

Re: * * * VALIANT TPB - LENDING LIBRARY IS HERE - SIGN UP NO
We had a little hiccup with the transit like what String had mentioned. Maybe there is a Project Rising Spirit Agent working secretly at the US Post Office in Greensboro.
I'm never sending any Harbinger/Bloodshot related items to Greensboro ever again... j/k.
Here's a photo of the package sent by String.

Things happen and they could have been a lot worse. (Like losing the entire package) We still have 5/8 books.
That being said, we are re-sending String the 3 missing books (From our 2nd Lending Library Set) + 2 new additional volumes we just ordered from Amazon.
Archer & Armstrong Volume 2: Wrath Of The Eternal Warrior & X-O Manowar Volume 3: Planet Death
Now the lending library will have 10 volumes instead of just 8.
We're expecting these to arrive CA on Sept 4th, before sending them over to rejoin the library.
String should get the 5 missing books no later than Sept 9th. (What I forgot to do was just have Amazon ship the 2 new volumes directly to String.)

Here's the order confirmation from Amazon for the 2 new volumes.
I believe 2 participants for the lending library also participated in the Round #2 NYCC Exclusives.
So we should be back to our regular scheduled programming soon.

Unfortunate.. Perhaps...
When Bruce and I first started this project. We know the risks of losing books is a possibility. Now it has happened, we have contingencies. We're not gonna let this incident affect the other lenders. We are going to continue with the library until all the participants get their hands on these.

Re: * * * VALIANT TPB - LENDING LIBRARY IS HERE - SIGN UP NO
I went by my local PO, showed them the box, the label, and explained how I was supposed to receive 8 books but ended up with only 5.
They explained that Dave's package apparently got damaged and the books slid out. In 'repairing' it, they split the delivery. So the missing 3 books are supposedly still in their system, either still coming to me or being sent back to Dave.
So I'll PM Dave to let him know to be on the lookout in case the books show up there. And I'll let you know if they show up here.

My spelling is horrible. I meant queue. Not que.
