Can I be re-converted?
Up until a couple months ago, Valiant for me was lumped into two categories: a footnote in the 90's speculation boom or the pursuit of highly idiosyncratic collectors. Now I don't want to sound completely elitist, because from ages 11-13 I bought every shiny-foil cover and 6mil-printed book too––including Valiant. Valiant was like the embarrassing haircut I had in the early 90's.
But then I saw "X-O Manowar Deluxe Edition 1" on Amazon for half price. I thought: " "What the hell? The worst thing that could happen is that I'll return it".
But holeeee *SQUEE*!
I. Was. Hooked.
Amazing story. Dynamic art. Morally ambiguous choices & characters.
I loved it...
So I bought the Bloodshot Deluxe H/C
Then Quantum and Woody
Then "The Valiant"
Then every collectible variant for good measure.
Now they are the only super hero titles I buy.
Then I went back and bought some of the key 90's books...
..it turns out they weren't so bad.
I'm glad I bought that X-O..
Although I think the books and story arcs should be a set of Netflix series, I am also very psyched about the movies.

I would imagine there were a number of Superman and Batman collectors in the early 1960s that didn't care about some restart on Human Torch and Captain America with some spider and hulk and fake Plastic Man.
Those DC collectors would have missed out on the most important Silver Age books.
Valiant has what people want, even if they think they're happy with the other two. We're very lucky to be among the few who already know.

Great story! Welcome aboard - lots of good people around here who have also dropped most other superhero lines for Valiant (I did too pretty much as soon as they hit shelves again in 2012).

also IMHO you haven't even read the best valiant has to offer! harbinger is the stand out title.
