Modern Vintage
So I kind of like comics that aren't exactly golden age (bronze-copper/modern) but revolve around characters from that period and the world around them (Best examples I can give are books like All Star Squadron, Young All Stars, and Sandman Mystery Theatre)
Can you folks give me some recommendations for comics that fall under this "unique" category?

Re: Modern Vintage
You're in my territory now, my friend! Love Golden Age stuff and modern Golden Age related stuff.
For Marvel stuff there's the old Invaders series (some of which has been collected) and several other that followed. I really liked the New Invaders mini that came out around 2004 by Allen Jacobsen. Only ran 10-11 issues, but was a lot of fun. The new series by James Robinson is pretty good too.
Also, Roy Thomas did a couple of great miniseries called "Saga of the Submariner" and one of my favorite minis of all time "Saga of the Original Human Torch".

While not always great most of the stuff from AC like FemForce had a vintage feel.

I really enjoyed a lot of Geoff Johns run on JSA from DC and have re-read some of the trades multiple times which is rare for me.

Re: Modern Vintage
My mom had a ton of issues of JSA from back when her and me used to go shopping at the comics shop in the flea market. John's JSA, the 60's Captain America cartoon, and the wealth of Silver and Bronze GL issues my mom had were some of the reasons why I grew to love and appreciate older comicsgeocarr wrote:I really enjoyed a lot of Geoff Johns run on JSA from DC and have re-read some of the trades multiple times which is rare for me.

If you're looking outside the Big 2, there's a lot of Hellboy/BPRD stuff that focuses on Golden Age-era. Peter Panzerfaust is supposed to be really good as well. And there's always League of Extraordinary Gentlemen,

Big Bang Comics, Alan Moore's 1963, and the ShadowHawk Special, to give some indie examples.
