Things I'd never even considered... but I still think the issue (and subsequent arc) was great. Not killing Zahn might have been a call from someone else that we're supposed to assume. Obviously they want to keep him around as a villain, but that's the way I read it.

Actually, I was reminded more of Iron Man #200, first appearance of the Silver Centurion armor and the climatic showdown between Tony and Obadiah as Iron Monger (IMHO, one of the best IM issues ever).jmatt wrote:I'm pretty sure every climactic battle between armored opponents is an gonna look an awful lot like the climactic fight between Stark and Obadiah in the first Iron Man movie.Tony_H wrote:Yep, 2/5 or lower. Besides the problems noted by everybody above, the climactic fight between Aric and Zahn looked an awful lot like the climactic fight between Stark and Obadiah in the first Iron Man movie.
The last few issues were weak, Zahn's motivations and moves seem cloudy at best, but this issue was a blast. A knockdown drag-out of a fight, loved it. The Armorines' design seems a tad quaint, so hopefully when they next appear, some improvements will have been made.
My only nitpick is the ending with Lewis. For those that may not be that familiar with VH1 (like myself), the deeper meaning of his presence is lost and it could have been a tad more clearer over what was going on. Otherwise, looking forward to the Armorines' next appearance.

I just finished the 3 issue arc and I enjoyed the story and art. Aric not killing Zahn in the end was smart because he needed to get his confession for everyone to see that Aric was not going rogue. I have to read the "Armorines" from VH1 to understand more of their history.
X-O continues to be my favorite series.

Re: XO MANOWAR #32
Been behind on my reads, just read this last night.
As the arc was unfolding I was not hugely liking the idea that this time the Armorines would be outright villains. Zahn as a Lex Luthor in a Power Suit wasn't lighting my world on fire.
Now that the arc has concluded and Zahn's ex-wife turned the Armorine tech over to G.A.T.E and/or Pentagon it's a bit more clear where VEI maybe going now. If it's like it seems, I approve!
