I understand that their are a lot of acclaim books that are rare due to a low print run but that is not a concern of mine, i only want to know what the content of the acclaim heroes and acclaim reader books are. I will be honest and admit i am a diehard X-O fan and am looking to own everything X-O. If either of these books include X-O i will be happy to purchase them, i would just like to know what exactly they contain as i have not been able to find any significant answer online and hoped my fellow valiant fans could help me out. I have only seen pictures of these HTF books and never have seen one "in the wild." My guess is the Acclaim Reader is very similar to the Valiant Reader in that it gives a synopsis of each Acclaim character and comic series. If you collect X-O, my guess there will be some X-O material inside. Not sure what is inside the Acclaim Heroes book, but it may be something very similar to the Acclaim Reader book.

If you are an Acclaim "completionist," then you probably want these books. From the feedback from other Board Members that the Acclaim stuff is not worth reading, I gave up on collecting Acclaim and sold everything. So I never needed to track these two books down. Unfortunately, the money saved went to another addiction- CGC slabs!

There is a 2 page spread on each acclaim title and a timeline in the middle as well and a few pages of ads.





Those are the x-o pages included in the Acclaim reader. Like Michael said its b+w newsprint. It was from an issue of Previews and has no staples. The Valiant heroes is a standalone version of that book (the orange cover). I assume the Valiant heroes book isn't on newsprint, but I dont own it so I can't say for sure.



Also, HOLY *SQUEE* This is a lot of cool stuff VEIReborn! Wish you the best of luck on your sale (but I doubt you will need it) . I know this thread is gonna make a TON of people here happy as pigs in *SQUEE* to get to own some of these rarities never seen in the wild. My collecting days are passed me now, I am in reading only mode, but I am still checking out this thread everyday to see the goodies

Just an FYI, USPS did their best to destroy your package, including 3 huge 7-8" breaks in the box. However, your interior packing was indestructible, and there wasn't a scratch on the books due to shipping.

Just wanted to point out to some of the newer members here that a few of these books are ridiculously hard-to-find, and seeing them in these groups do not do them justice at all. In particular these books: The Shadowman Glows, Valiant Acclaim Heroes and Turok evolutions might pop up on ebay once a year, and sometimes less than that...I would grab them if I didn't have them already.
