Silly man - why in the world would they use comic-book stories for comic-book characters in a comic-book movie?

Hey all you of my speculator breathern, Diamond has sent a email telling people to pull Harley Quinn annual 1 (both covers!
) off the shelves tonight. I have a few but you may want to get a few quick because I feel a "million mothers" type protest and as we all know recalled DC books do alright...lol. Feel free to converse.

Super interesting tip. Must be the scratch and sniff cannabis. I went out on a limb and bought a 4 cover set (for less than cover price shipped). The eBay action on this book is red hot.
Big thanks whether it pans out or not! I would probably have picked this book up had I known about it (which I didn't).

I should update... 2 stores so far have confirmed getting that email. I have not confirmed anymore yet, and with Halloween (my kids are wearing me out!) I may not get anymore info till next week. Can anyone else check with their LCS a and see if this went out to everyone?

The Christmas tree was supposed to be a "international" and "kid friendly" version. It even has a different bar code.Elveen wrote:Some have the Mary Jane leaf on the cover and some don't. Pun intended. I work in SF. The aroma in the Tenderloin is unparalleled with anything I've ever experienced.

Re: Discuss Hard To Find Or Currently Hot Modern Comics
Since last weekend, I had been watching a 9.0 on the Comiclink auction that closed Wednesday. Was willing to pay a bit more than it has seemed to be going for recently, but was hoping a bid somewhere from 600-700 would do it. Then Tuesday happened, and here's where it ended:Ramses818 wrote:That book has been blowing up for months.Elveen wrote:Today while setting up at comikaze, I saw a dealer, that is NOT, historically overpriced on his books with 1st Carol Danvers at $300.depluto wrote:So which books picked up some heat after the Marvel movie announcement?

Re: Discuss Hard To Find Or Currently Hot Modern Comics
I had the first Carol Danvers in one of my ebay saved searches but never pulled the trigger on any of them. Generally speaking the higher grade ones would end around $100 but they've really spiked up with the announcement.
Black Science. Lazarus. Birthright. Saga. Manifest Destiny. Deadly Class.

Re: Discuss Hard To Find Or Currently Hot Modern Comics
I managed to pick up three in the VG–FN range for between 50–70 each. (Actually, I have two; the third should be on its way now. I pulled the trigger on the last one about 15 minutes before the movie announcements started.)chriskay99 wrote:I had the first Carol Danvers in one of my ebay saved searches but never pulled the trigger on any of them. Check out how many watchers...
The auction started out at $5 w/ a $7 BIN. he got about 50 watchers (most from the CGC board in a weird & funny "trick) and upped the price $1 each way.
