Do you have to have a handheld device to view these or could you do it straight on a PC? Are they just PDF files of the comics? What kind of total file size are we talking about for everything?

Thanks for any answers!

You can view on a computer. Pdf or cbz (which is just a special zip file with jpegs of the pages. Probably around 60MB or so for each issue.

Is this seriously what it takes to read a comic on an Apple device? Geez. I can just download directly from a site and open the file. To add metadata and cool sorting stuff it's a little more complex, but all this just to read it?

I will never understand why people use Apple.

Sorry for the derail. And the beating of a dead horse.

You really can't do it through WiFi?

I agree. As we head into only day 3 of this 13 day promotion, the latest count is 6,291. VEI has to be pleased with this response to this offer

I literally I had to call my law firm's IT guy down to my office to help me get the comics saved on my iPad.

While embarrassing, the good news is that we got to talking about comics. He said he stopped reading comics about a year ago. At the time, he was only reading Marvel. So I told him about Humble Bundle and Valiant (he remembered some old Valiant stuff back in the day, but didn't know they rebooted in 2012). He was very excited about the news, so I bought the Humble Bundle for him.

This morning, he told me he tore through the first 4 issues of X-O Manowar last night and loved it...I think we may have a new Valiant reader on our hands!!

Also, I am glad to have the comics on my iPad, but the experience of trying to get the comics onto my iPad has convinced me that print comics will be here for a long time still...

Hilarious.

I only like digi comics for when my lady wakes up and tells me to turn the light off.

This is an AMAZING deal!

Im 99.9% digital right now and Im loving it. I buy almost all of my books on Comixology (generally wait til the books are discounted  )

I read my books on my Samsung Galaxy Tab. They look great!

I bought the Transformers bundle from HB a while ago and Im enjoying them on my tablet.

For those interested: HB sends you a download link. I downloaded mine to my computer and then sent them to my DropBox. Now I can access them where ever I want :)

Anyone know of a better 'cloud' app? I need more storage

I agree that this is an amazing deal, I am buying for sure too.

Nice way to support VEI, charity, Humble Bundle and get these all to read anywhere. :D

re: cloud storage, There are some free ones I haven't used that offer more than dropbox...

https://www.surdoc.com/get-it-free/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - 100GB

http://www.symform.com/plans-pricing/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - 10GB free

Also dropbox has reduced their pricing recently and its $11 CAD /month for 1 TB (1000 GB). A pretty good value I think although I don't need anymore than the free for my purposes at the moment.

My bro has a masters in computer science. he's a our go to guy for computers. when i switched to apple (for school) i was really worried about losing that safety net (he doesn't touch macs). How would i be able to fix ALL the problems that come with a computer… i learned quickly that those were only PC problems. 6 yrs of having a mac work flawlessly and effortlessly is why i use apple products.

also … it's like having a condom for the internet.
I dunno. There are dozens of new viruses for Mac products every year and interest is growing.

I do have lots of viruses on my Linux machine. I keep them in a directory. I am not one to wantonly waste tools.

This is pretty exciting.. Can it top the actual numbers for a valiant title monthly in print and digital?? I think there's a chance and then that could certainly lead to slightly better numbers in print going forward, nit to mention increased profit for vei through digital sales!

Not holding my breath.. But keeping my fingers crossed! :hope:

I really enjoyed its first 10 issues. I was a fan of the Jordan era Shadowman. It definitely wasn't perfect, but it was really fun.
