Thanks man! I'm wondering how long it will be before that book becomes the next "1st of Apocalypse" - especially if Fox does a successful X-Universe. I don't know though - there's only been two X-Men flicks I thought were legitimately good and they haven't done very well with the rest of the Marvel props soooooo.......
If it's the next Apocolypse, I should have hoarded my copies. I actually had 5. I sold 2 recently. I have another I think I'm going to sell, and I'll keep the other 2 (direct and newsstand).

I'd love to see Mr. Sinister in a movie. That would be great. Love your collection. Great idea.

I'd love to stumble onto a shop like that. I've been visiting shops around the Bay area since I moved, and there just aren't many good ones in terms of back issues. Back issue stock is the thing I judge a store on. Second is small press items. I can get new comics anywhere. I can't get back issues or small/micro press stuff easily.

VEI Harbinger 15-21, VH1 Eternal Warrior, VH1 Unity 0 & 1 @ a dollar a piece. I was particularly happy with the VEI find.

Grabbed a whole long box for $25 at a garage sale, that had all the books below:

There's 5 hardcover books, the Batman Guantlet is pretty hard to find as well.

Nice haul!! Gang War & McFarlane era Spidey books gotta be worth your $25 alone...

And man, those Grendel/Batman books are just a thing of beauty. Absolutely love the covers on those. :thumb:

It doesn't matter much in the market right now but the fact that they're almost all newsstand versions could be important as well.

I couldn't resist bringing this one to this thread - it's one of the best deals I've gotten in ages....
$2.25. Sorry for the large scan, but check out the shape this thing is in. White interior pages too. The white line from Batman's shoulder to Superman's hand is scanner glare. I'd say it's a Pressing (some kinks in the spine side cover that don't break color) and CGC candidate for sure...

I always try to pickup newwstands when I see them, I don't know how much rarer they are with Marvel (DC and Image and noticeable more rare). I also grabbed another lot of comics that had X-Factor 2-5, and Issue 5 was a price variant! That seems to be a lot rarer than the other ones, and I think I'll be holding onto that...

Not a huge deal per se, but I scored a couple of books that only the most verdant Valiant nerd would appreciate.

Bloodshot TPB 1 - 2nd Print
Shadowman TPB 1 - 2nd Print

Mmmm, I don't think so, man. At least not from what I've seen over the last several months. The average lower-grade raw copy generally runs in the $90-range; so-called NM- to NM books average about $140; and anything even slightly tighter than NM can get pretty friggin' pricey, like this'n that ended just last night for almost $270:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Amazing-Spider- ... 2113wt_778" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Granted, that was described as a 9.6 to 9.8 copy, so if it truly is, that pricing's pretty much justified, given what it can pull slabbed.

I personally sold three raw copies for an average of about $135 each...and that was four years ago.

If I could get a legitimate high-grade (NM+) to premium (NM/MT) raw copy for $175, I'd snag it in a minute.
I'm with you here Bloodshot and actually, at shows (especially) the big ones... ASM #300 can go for BIG bucks! I think you are low.

I've only ever had one #300, I sold it this year in phoenix. It went above all the prices you you guys have mentioned in this thread.

Shows are a different beast. I saw mid grades that people were asking $100 for, which is ridiculous considering that Cgc 4.0-6.0s have recently sold for $50-$75.

Personally, I bought a Cgc 9.4 several years ago for $75, but it had that bad edge problem. I didn't like it, so I flipped it a few years later for $300 which is about $75 more than the current market. The current prices on slabs appear to be:
9.4 $225
9.6 $350
9.8 $1,000

That's quite a jump. I still have at least the 2 copies I bought off the racks back in the day. One has the edge problem, but it wouldn't surprise me if both came back 9.8 considering the NM 98 I got back at 9.8. But those Spideys are staying in the collection for a while.

I had a nice day in Chicago yesterday for Wizard World.

I bought a CGC 9.8 copy of Unity 0 red, Rai 21 VVSS, and a NM copy of Rai 5 for $140.

I bought VEI variants of Harbinger 7, X-O 2, and X-O 9 for $2 each.

Submitted a few books to CGC.

...And I bought this from Mr. Calafiore:
