Interesting point about McFarlane owning it, but it looks like Dixon must own it.kjjohanson wrote:I didn't realize this book had any history. If it's Eclipse, does that mean McFarlane owns it?StarBrand wrote:Winter World has been brought back by IDW. The original first issue from Chuck Dixon, circa 1987, is selling for bank. Not sure if it was before the new series or not. To me 1987 is modern. So, sue me.

I think this is going to be very short-term pop. Especially since LWA is a series featuring alternate futures.StarBrand wrote:Life With Archie 36. Death of Archie. I think this is the regular cover, but not positive.

My LCS ordered all covers...he has over 500,
everyone was like what is this? I think Archie fans are going to treat this like "whatever" and speculators will be left holding the bag. But at least it has people talking again.

Very short term pop indeed. I saw some for $50 or so initially, now they at cover or just slightly over cover.kjjohanson wrote:I think this is going to be very short-term pop. Maybe I should do that. I'm trying to sell one of my many extras, and I had a BIN below other selling close prices...but still it sits there. Being in Canada really sucks the big one when it comes to ebaying....kjjohanson wrote:Some creative keyword spamming here:

Re: Discuss Hard To Find Or Currently Hot Modern Comics
Just had a thought; Brave & Bold #200 is heating up now because it's the first Katana and she's going to be in Arrow. But the situation with that book (if I remember correctly) is similar to Secret Wars II #8/Amazing Spider-man #252 in that chronologically Batman & the Outsiders #1 takes place before B&B #200 without technically being a flashback. It's been years since I read it but as I remember it BATO #1 tells the story of Batman quitting the JLA and getting involved in some situation in Markovia, where all of the individual members of the Outsiders come together. The B&B story is a short story that takes place when the Outsiders are already a team. So maybe BATO #1 is a bit of a sleeper here. (Either way it's the origin of the team, not that the team is what's driving the value of B&B.)

The main thing I got from it (besides some great comic knowledge) is that them dudes DO NOT like each other. There is some REAL hate going on there.
(Also some serious $$ being made)
Super glad I read through it. But it was work no doubt.

I just grabbed B&B 200 for $6 today at a show (VF copy), probably flip it for a few bucks on ebay.kjjohanson wrote:Just had a thought; Brave & Bold #200 is heating up now because it's the first Katana and she's going to be in Arrow. If I hadn't been reading through some of those threads I would have had absolutely no clue that I have a duplicate of a Justice League Europe issue (#33) that's actually worth some money (for an early Sonic the Hedgehog appearance).GGSAE wrote:.Elveen wrote:I'm up now.StarBrand wrote:400yrs wrote:Was it worth the read?Elveen wrote:GGSAE wrote:Damn, you guys are like jackals...feed me!!

There isn't that much hate, it's really only a few individuals out of hundreds of participants. The CGC boards have been around longer, and attracts stronger personalities, so that could be why it seems there's lots of hate.400yrs wrote:It's not the Cgc boards without hate and ridicule.Elveen wrote:It's not an easy read.
