Re: Only The Valiant Podcast
I am curious what would you guys like to see when they move beyond the old properties and they have to come up with something completely new but something that's still part of the Valiant U.Dr. Solar wrote:We're trying out a brand new feature here at OTV: OTV Small Talks.
They will be short episodes about a wide variety of topics.
Up first, more discussion about Rai #1, it's an OTV Plus Edition on Rai #1:

Such a great podcast, all you guys doing a great job.
Cannot believe I didn't access this before.
NB ~ Is their a greg holland, or evil greg interview ~ or phone in?

Re: Only The Valiant Podcast
Are you guys planning to do an episode about the recent Bloodshot/Archer & Armstrong crossover called "Mission Improbable"? I wasn't sure at first if I was going to like it. But by the end I was sold. My only concern about was, without spoiling anything, do you think it is possible to make Archer too powerful? I know we have great powerful characters such as Harada and Pete. But one of the things I like about Archer is his humbleness and being a little more down to earth then Pete or Harada. Also it could possible lead to what I call "lazy writer syndrome". Write your character into a corner and instead of finding an interesting way to resolve it, just give the character a sudden new power every time. I'm not saying this is happening. Not at all. They are doing a great job with Archer. I'm just afraid if they keep going this route it could happen. Like Superman pre-crisis.

Re: Only The Valiant Podcast
I know that we had mentioned that we should record a Mission Improbable episode. The last few recording sessions have had to be shorter than we wanted. It is difficult to fit a 2-hour block into four schedules across two or three timezones (depending on daylight savings time).the1captain wrote:Are you guys planning to do an episode about the recent Bloodshot/Archer & Armstrong crossover called "Mission Improbable"? Typical selfishness. I cannot believe you put your family and livelihood before the needs of the fans. Re: Only The Valiant Podcast
Having finally read Rai #1, I have to agree with Jonesy. I think the map and the dialogue of the Raddies have a striking resemblance "Warriors of Plasm". I feel like I once read an interview with Kindt where he said he read the Defiant stuff back when it came out but he may have just been talking about old Valiant. Either way it seems very similar especially them talking about being recycled
I also agree that the map is similar to what you'd find in "Prophet". I've seen a number of things in "Prophet" that reminds me of "Warriors of Plasm" as well.
I still love "Warriors of Plasm". It has some great concepts so maybe it's just wishful thinking.

Awesome, DG! Thanks for the feedback! I don't think that the Defiant universe will be incorporated into the Valiant universe, but the sci-fi similarities to it and Prophet were certainly picked up on and appreciated by yours truly. The Dirt Gang wrote:Having finally read Rai #1, I have to agree with Jonesy. Sometimes I think that I shoot way left-field in my analysis of these stories, but I love that these books are so well-written that they inspire these kinds of conversation.
Thank you for listening!!!!
