True. When I was in Cali, there were bums everywhere.

Two episodes in one week! Yeah!

About Chiclo changing his intro sound bite. Personally I always liked opening an episode hearing his rant about Cyclops. Just my opinion.

Question. While I did read Valiant in the 90's, I only ever read the first issue of HARD corps. I got it because like Bloodshot and Turok 1, it felt like everyone was required by law to get these books. But just for entertainment value is it worth reading the rest of that series?

The intro sound bites are going to change over time. For this change, thought it was too good of a twist of intentions to NOT change it to what it is now.

The early issues of HARDCorps aren't bad, but not great. They get pretty terrible towards the end.

When designing an HVAC control system (say offices) what do you use for the control point, OAT (outdoor air temp) or RAT (return air temp) and why?

I have a very definite opinion on this.

I am interested to see what your opinion is as we are in very different climates, hot and humid vs.cold and dry.

It will make for the most boring OTV episode ever! :thumb:
Or the most boring post ever.

One thing I am very happy about is that I don't design HVAC systems anymore at my new job.

I'm not sure what control point you're referring to. In Cali, I pretty much only designed heating/cooling systems, no dual deck. California Energy Code does not allow reheat. Of course, we dont have to debumidify anything.

If you mean the location to control if the system is in heating or cooling mode, I usually try to find a south-facing zone that is centrally located, not a zone that includes a corner. Or I pick the office where the boss will sit as the control zone. If you mean the thermostat or temperature settings, cooling on at IAT of 75 degrees DB. Heating on at 68 degrees DB. At least in Cali. See below.

OAT = 2% DB temp.

RAT = indoor air temp, if I'm being conservative (which I usually am), or indoor air temp +3 degrees. Indoor air temp is per the Energy Code for that state, in Cali it is 75 degrees. In Washington it is 78 degrees.

I know right, you wouldn't believe how many systems I ran in to that used OAT for a control point. It's crazy especially in Calgary where it's not unusual to have 20 C temperature swings, if a chinook blows in it can happen in less than an hour.

Okay that's enough we're boring

How about XO blasting that dudes flaming head through that other dudes body? :thumb:

Chiclo's response to that Galactus question might be my new fav Chiclo moment ever. I had to pause during his answer to contain my laughter.

Oh and thanks for defending me Sean :high-five:

I listen to about 3-4 hours worth of podcasts per day (mostly at work) So it's easy to run out of OTV. Plus Chiclo i've heard every ep more than once and finished tied for fourth in the trivia contest....I think i've proven my OTV cred :P

If it's any consolation C-lo OTV is still the only podcast i've ever sent voicemails or e-mails to :D

If it truly existed, it would far surpass the actual OTV podcast. Just you guys commenting on your podcast. I rolling just thinking about it.

Just listened to the commentary episode. Really funny, and yes the elaborate X-O kill did deserve the 10 minutes that were dedicated to it.

My nomination for the kill: Penetrating Fire Skull :thumb:
