The @ValiantPodcast Thread

Post by Chris Campbell »

Hi all,

Along with my friend Darrell Taylor, I've started recording a new podcast on the Taylor Network of Podcasts focused on the Valiant universe. The first episode has been released on the site (link below), and the iTunes feed should be live any day. I'll update it once that happens. If this sounds interesting, I hope you take a minute to check it out. It's definitely a passion project for Darrell and I. The show also has a Twitter handle @ValiantPodcast.

iTunes feed:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/val ... d759211884

Taylor Network direct link:
http://thetaylornetworkofpodcasts.com/2 ... beginning/

Thanks!
Chris Campbell

It's really long, like lord of rings long but I love it

I'm still listening to it, great insights I'll have to give it 2 listens.

I'm definitely on board to listen, but I need it to be available on iTunes to do so.
I wonder what it would be like to be a lonely, muck-encrusted monster? Probably be an improvement.

Absolutely. Shouldn't be more than a day or so. Like most, I listen to all my podcasts on my iPhone. We're just in the Apple review process now.

Still listening to it, but wanted to say that the 'current' story in Eternal Warrior #1-#2 is before the events of Archer & Armstrong #5-#8.

I don't have a copy in front of me, but it's safe to say that the timeline puts these EW stories in the 'much more recent past' than the events of thousands of years ago.

In other words, we've had 'ancient history' and 'modern day', but both are pre-A&A#5.

Buck McHenry was smashed by the Boon at the Green Lama's place.

Thanks for listening, Greg and Mark. After we recorded, I did see a tweet from Greg confirming this as well, which definitely makes sense. Now I'm viewing it almost like the arrow TV show. We get a current storyline and then a recent past storyline that theoretically should "catch up" to the beginning of the current one.

And Buck, no relation to Kay? I can't remember why the last name was the same for so many Geomancers.

Thanks again guys.

Finished listening on my way to work this morning... very good show... lots of "meaty discussion". :thumb:

In the original Valiant, Buck McHenry and Geoff McHenry (great-nephew) are introduced in Solar #10 as the first (and second) geomancers we see.
Later we find out that geomancers go back thousands of years.

In this Valiant, Buck McHenry is killed by the falling Boon and Kay McHenry becomes geomancer (to her surprise).

My guess is that Valiant is keeping Buck basically the same, while switching Geoff for Kay (to increase diversity, or sensuality, or whatever).
Kay is probably a long lost niece and Buck's closest relative... though she may not have ever met him.
Buck is in the "room of geomancers" that Kay sees when she's talking to Mother Earth and learning her "green rewrite the universe's operating system power" stuff (A&A #9).
"Me mates just call me Buck"

Thanks Greg! I remember the appearance of the past Geomancer, but I forgot they mentioned his name. Cool. I've been going back and re-reading everything for a second (or even third time) and it's amazing the things you can still miss in your notes. Lol. Let me know if you'd ever like to come on for a segment and chat.

Evil Greg does sound more fun..... Hmmm.

And anyone looking to add a Harby Gold to their collection, we're giving one of my copies away to a lucky winner. To enter, we just ask that you listen to an ep and leave an iTunes review.
