Magnus Uncut Sheet Info

Post by prismra »

So, what's the deal here? There are TWO versions of this thing?

The one I'm getting in the mail is the same one you can see in the misc. gallery page with the black and white logo in the middle. What's the other one? Does anyone know why there is another version. Is it part of the 500 run that is advertized in those early Magnus books or some other version?

And what is this border talk? What border? I'm missing something here guys.

Thanks for anyone who can help! :thumb:

The one you're getting is the uncut card sheet, printed on both sides & on cardstock paper. The other one is a poster, on thin paper, with a red center, & no printing on the back. The card sheet is worth around $100. There's a good chance that many of these were destroyed when Valiant's offices closed. A stack of these uncut sheets is one of the many things Joe P. left behind...I don't know how many of the regular posters were made, but they are worth considerably less than the uncut card sheet. :thumb: ---Steve

Yeah, VK is right, the poster is the red logo, the black is the uncut sheet.

I'll chime in with my "white Solar 10" story, swearing that I have seen a cardstock uncut sheet with a color logo and a color border.

But no one has seen one since, assuming I am not hallucinating. I have both the poster and uncut sheet, so I know what I'm saying here. The pictures in the gallery are mine.

I have both too. Personally, I have never heard of a red cardstock version, but I suppose it is possible that they may have tested a few with other colors before they settled on the black logo. So maybe there are a few waiting to be discovered.

What do you guys mean by color border? Border of what? That's the part I don't get.

Border is not really the right word. The logo is red instead of Black (in the center). The other red part is on the bottom and says 'On Sale Now' and 'Non-Sports Trading Cards inside'.

Doesn't the coupons as inserted in the comics, exist in both versions?

Yeah, the coupons and cards look the same as the uncut sheet, but they are not cardstock since it's the poster version.

And there is no printing on the back of the poster. The back of the cards has text.
