You should grab a starter pack and give it a try just for kicks. I think it's the greatest game of all time, along with D&D.

It will be done, at least a fanmade one. That's why I made this, I would love the idea of translating these great characters into the best CCG there is.Ramses818 wrote:now I want a set!!

Re: VALIANT invades Magic: The Gathering
I haven't played MTG in many years (other than a trial with my son a year or two ago and I was thoroughly confused by the new features of the game), but those are fantastic!
The only suggestion I might have would be to have Aric as the card instead of X-O Manowar. Then equip Aric with Shanhara to create X-O Manowar. That just seems more logical to me.

I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

You read my mind. The plan was to make eventually a "Aric of Dacia/Visigoth Warrior" type of card, that could be equipped with the armor. But for starters, I settled with the guy-on-armor approach and made the Armor quite costly so no one could be X-O other than X-O himself, if I'm making any sense.
I just forgot to add the Legendary status to it, so no more than one X-O in play at the time. Will rectify this tonight, as I'm making a couple more.

Re: VALIANT invades Magic: The Gathering
It was late last night when I first posted in here, and since I have been thinking how amazing these are... I am just getting back into playing MTG again as my buddy moved home. I just bought a box of Theros from Ed so can't wait to start playing again.
Once you have a set done, we are SURELY gonna play some Magic: The Valiant.

Re: VALIANT invades Magic: The Gathering
Thanks. I haven't yet checked the Theros set properly, but am very intrigued by it's Ancient Greece flavour.nscc wrote:It was late last night when I first posted in here, and since I have been thinking how amazing these are... I forgot to say that I will make these available as a set for use in Magic Workstation, if anyone wants to try these without having to print them. We can even make a league.

Re: VALIANT invades Magic: The Gathering
I'm very happy that you are digging this, guys and gals. Sincerely, thank you for the encouraging comments.
Ok, so I settled in making a first series of 40 cards, 29 of them are "ready". I added some lands and noncreature spells, some of them you can check below. Also, I opted to change Gunslinger to White. I'll explain my reasoning to anyone who cares to listen, just ask.
And again, thanks to you all.
