Beautiful page, with extra inking done by Barry. Who's going to win it! :hm:

Me neither!

Though I'm tempted to make a lowball offer...

May very well be no problems at all, but I had a few questions when I first saw it, especially at that price. I see the ink initials, but where is it signed? Most of my BWS signed stuff from him/his agent that I picked up (way back when) is more of a scribbled signature, fairly common on other art from him from what I have seen. Also, what exactly are "enhanced inks." I took a look at the book to see if more was added after publication and the published page looks a good bit different than the enhanced version. Again, on a high dollar piece, provenance and original to published source have always been important to me. Proving Barry added inks after the fact might be an issue, might not. Just my 2 cents and not trying to take anything away from a great piece of art (even though it has an Aric backside shot).

Edit: I see what looks like a signature, have not compared it to anything else. Looks like another signature or something may be up under it also

I wouldn't be the least concerned about the "enhanced" inks. He offers that when you purchase art from him. Here's a collector with his own BWS enhanced pieces.

Not when I purchased from him, but then again that was a long time ago and his price list was in the 200 to 300 price range.

As I said, as long as the provenance is good and you have a solid chain of title, no problem. Otherwise, you are buying at best an altered piece , awesome looking, but it was never published in its current form, akin to a sketch, but with the original up under it. At worst you open yourself up to the same issues that are out there with trying to sale questionable artwork or covering up flaws of reproductions or "newly discovered, unpublished art".

Beautiful artwork, even if it was unpublished, but for me at least, I collect it because it was published in the form I bought it. Now if I could purchase the original and the enhanced, it might almost be worth the 2300 the seller is asking. Again, just my 2cents.

I wish I had been been shopping in those days! Barry's now selling Unity and other Valiant hero pages in the 2k range. So this page is not totally out of line with that.

Not that I would spend 2300 on it. Especially if I had collected pages in the 300 range! But if it was a page I really wanted, the enhance inks wouldn't scare me off.

I recall a recent A&A BWS page sold in the $700-800 range. Solar 2 cover sold for less than $2K (albeit, not BWS). I think the price is way overpriced, but just my opinion.

I saw this last night and looked at his other listings. Some really interesting pieces, but I view them as priced higher than the market. Just my opinion, but they seem priced like someone who is testing the waters.

I'd be shocked if he got his asking price. He'll probably take some off-ebay offer, if there's an interested buyer. A couple other BWS page from X-O 1 (with him in costume!) each sold for around 1,600 on ebay (if memory serves). Even if I can't have them (and I cant..) it's cool to know they're out there.

Exactly, I bid on that awesome X-O #1 page a few months ago, bid up to 1,500 but got outbid. Barry is my favorite artist of all time, I own a lot of BWS books and rare prints, but not any originals. (I have an awesome Layton X-O Piece done in BWS style that looks JUST like BWS, but it's not him, so...)

That page was awesome, XO in costume fighting a spider alien. This one is just him walking around, small panels.

And Anthony is right, it does not look right to me, I have seen 100s of BWS pages, they don't look that inked. Barry's inks are really fine and clean, these look over the top thick and heavy. I would not buy it.
