First Jim Calafiore VEI cover (unseen till now)

Post by betterthanezra »

Walking over to Jim Calafiore at SDCC he is always in the same place on the floor with Mike McKone so I headed over and he said "Hey Brian, I got something for you to check out. Just finished this and yes it's for sale"

After I picked my jaw off the floor I said "it's not for sale anymore". So I now have this VEI Cover in my Valiant collection. My first original art from the New Valiant.

I cleared showing this with Dinesh even though it hasn't been seen before.

Awesome, awesome drawing.

Calafiore was my favourite XO penciller back in the day, this is truly cool to see his work gracing a VEI XO cover. Very cool that you snapped up the original, Brian - and nice of Dino to allow you to share it here early! :thumb:

That is very cool. What is He working on as a regular artist?? Would love to see him actually doing pencils for valiant again. His work on Armorines Vol. 2 was some of the best work i've ever seen.

What's the "signature series?"
I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

Yeah but Ninjak needs his own title before that can happen
