ANOTHER AUCTION TO HELP SQUIRREL - EBAY ENDING 6/15

Elery (drmirage) and I have been been tremendously moved and saddened by longtime member Squirrel's situation - Heart Attack, Kidney Failure, 2 Open Hear Surgeries, amputated leg (all during 3 yrs.), over 5200 posts here in 7 years, had to sell entire collection off for bills (which he did thanks to members here), and to top it all off then his hospital sued him because he wasn't paying the bill fast enough for them so he now has added legal costs which the hospital used to attach his tax return! Elery and I realized that but for the grace of God ANY of us could find ourselves in a similar situation. In talking about this, we realized that we had to do something to try and help simply because it is the right thing to do. Other members have donated books and done auctions to help which even more demonstrated to us that we should work together and also try to help.

To that end, I have placed 31 auctions in my ebay store (bhartsh1112awt). To help you identify the specific auctions, each has "Squirrel" in the listing title. All books have a starting bid of 1/2 Greg's guide price. The auctions run for 10 days. At the end, I will take the gross sales proceeds and paypal them to Squirrel (I'll stand the listing costs and ebay final value fees myself). In addition, for his part, drmirage will MATCH the first $100.00 in sales from this group of auctions, dollar for dollar, and also paypal that amount to Squirrel. Hopefully members here will find something they want and can help out by purchasing something for this cause.

Just wanted to acknowledge these members with their amazing surprise contributions for Squirrel in this round.
These with Bruce's 31 auction listings and $100 I will be matching will all be going towards Squirrel.

Both Bruce and I have been planning this for several months. Its our goal to be able to help out someone out who is in need. I personally have never met nor have dealt with Squirrel in the boards before, but I know he's always been a stand up guy on the six years plus being a VF member.

No one should have to sell 20+ years of Valiant collecting to pay for their meds.

Jay (Bloodshot) and I have also talked about Squirrel's situation prior. I wanted to share something that Jay said... and something that I will never forget.
It was pointed out that we're not rich by any means, but we are at least comfortable.

To those not in need of any of the books for auction, but would like to help... Donations are always welcomed.

First, I'd like to say a BIG Thank you for those who are bidding on the items.
Second, OMG BBQ!

I was not able to put words when I read Bruce's PM.

Just yesterday, I talked to Squirrel and he did not know what to say when he heard about this auction.
He said... "Every penny that he receives from this helps." I know 100% that he is fighting everyday to survive.

Those who want to donate directly to Squirrel, its welcomed. Thanks you everyone helping out!

Bruce before one said, "After all, helping each other out for the love of Valiant is a foundation of the board."

I want to personally thank you guys....1 penny is more than I could ask for.. You all have been MORE then generous in helping me. I am going through a new battle I have RSD--reflex sympathetic dystrophy. When it rains, the skys open....then it pours

I haven't told anyone yet, odd you guys are the first to know but any thing I receive is going toward medicines and doctor copays. I dont ask & want anyone to feel sorry or sad. I'm with my son this weekend so all is right in my world right now

I think everyone just wants to see you get better! Since we can't do that anything we can do to make your life a little easier is the way to go. I've had some tough moments in life myself and it was the generosity of friends, family, and strangers that helped get me through it.

Besides, no one I mean no one should have to sell a valiant collection!
