Just thought Id share a nice piece I aquired recently. I cant really tell, but those colors almost look airbrushed. Was that a common technique?

I remember when this bad boy was on eBay (a Joe Petrilak auction), I believe. Way too rich for me... Sigh.

It was part of a large stack of random Valiant art I purchased from someone who had just had it all handed over to them. Im actually considering selling it if I can get a good price.

How long ago did that auction take place BoH? Im also interested in what it originally went for.

Um...is that the production art?

The reason I ask is because before he auctioned it off, Joe P. included quality color copies of the original watercolors in his "Unity Files II" set. The information (and a scan of the H2O colors) can be found here:

Sorry, but something don't jive...

There is always the possibility one is the card color art and one is the
comic cover color art. Digging up a copy of the comic and card now...

One has to be the Cover colors and one the Card colors. What is the size of your art?

I just checked out that link, and when comparing the Rai 1 image on that page with my cover or the actual cover of the comic, my cover and the printed cover match but the image on Petrilak's old page seems to be cropped very differently. Compare those three things and see if you agree with me.

The entire page is 11.5x14 and the major drawn on part is 8.5x14.

From what I can tell Joe had the card art and Uruchuu has the cover art.
Nice score bro!

VERY niiice. And considering what the card art sold for on eBay five years ago, you could come out all right.

Any Bloodshot pages in that stack, man? :)

No Bloodshot, but it did have a Vosburg Archer & Armstrong page where a character strongly resembles him.

Very nice. Congrats.

They did do some airbrushing, but because that makes the originals sensitive, they often noted so. At least that's how it was later on.

Don't know what you call a good price, but the cover for Magnus 0 fetched $700 on eBay. And as has been stated, this looks like the original (apart from some really minor details which should be part of the printing process).

Hard to tell as this kind of items rarely show up and it is not known were it went to or how. You could probably check the history of this art with JayJay Jackson.

If you sell your finds, any and all Magnus items are guaranteed a bid.
