Re: What comics are you reading now?
After catching up on all the new Valiant issues, Swamp Thing, and Animal Man I decided to re-read my She-Hulk collection. Starting with Savage She-Hulk of course. I'm only at #6 so far and it has been pretty tough to get into. Not one of the more well written Bronze age comics. I am looking forward to getting to the Byrne FF run, Sensational and the Slott series though.

Re: What comics are you reading now?
Yeah, I remember really liking it but I have such a horrible memory that I can hardly remember what the stories were about the previous month let alone years ago. Anything She-Hulk by Byrne or Slott is great IMO.Lightning Strike wrote:Slott's She Hulk was cool and hilariousMrBigFeathas wrote:After catching up on all the new Valiant issues, Swamp Thing, and Animal Man I decided to re-read my She-Hulk collection. The Peter David She-Hulk run was really good until they started with the Lady Liberator silliness.

Re: What comics are you reading now?
I read a couple old Marvel GNs:
Amazing Spider-Man - Parallel Lives - A nice little recap of the first few years of ASM through the perspective of PP and MJ.
Death of Captain Marvel - I've never read this before. It was really good. Some of those pages are really nice even though it's from the early 80s. Excellent read which I could see myself reading again.
I love the GN format. Those bigger pages are awesome and I like that it's still not really heavy like an omni.

Spider-Men. 3.5/5. This could've been soooooo much better, but I guess I expected too much of Bendis. There were a few character moments but not nearly as many as there should've / could've been.
Todd the Ugliest Kid on Earth #1. 4/5. This was weird.

Re: What comics are you reading now?
I just read V-Ditti's The Surrogates: Flesh and Bone. (it is the prequel to the first Surrogates TPB)
It is GREAT!!!!!!! After reading both of the Surrogates TPBs, I can see why Warren was interested in V-Ditti.
If you have not read these books, DO IT! Excellent!

Agree 100%. Read both TPBs and they're well worth the time/effort. Would recommend reading em in the order they came out. Story is great. Art is OK.Elveen wrote:I just read V-Ditti's The Surrogates: Flesh and Bone. (it is the prequel to the first Surrogates TPB)

New Avengers #2 is amazing. Marvel NOW has been good so far, I can really feel the excitement of the creators handling their new toys. Looking forward to Uncanny X-Men.

That is good to hear. I had read one of the TPBs and enjoyed it, now I definitely have to check out the rest.Carson wrote:Agree 100%. Read both TPBs and they're well worth the time/effort. Yea, I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I'm trying to hit all the major points in Batman's timeline. So many.

I would rate them like this:Jaknife wrote:Yea, I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I'm trying to hit all the major points in Batman's timeline. So many.
1-Long Halloween (awesome, awesome book)
2-Dark Victory (not quite as good as LH but still very good-I don't know what it is about Loeb & Sale, but they're a great team)
3-Hush
4-War Games
5-Knightfall
6-Run riddler run

Also, I've been hearing a lot of good things about the new Batman book by Snyder and Capullo. As much as I hate DC's new 52, I may pick up the first 2 trades of this. It sounds interestingJaknife wrote:Yea, I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I'm trying to hit all the major points in Batman's timeline. So many.

Re: What comics are you reading now?
I was seriously considering reposting my list of books, but I'm lazy. Aside from my current stuff (which the list is on the "What's on your pull list" thread, I'm reading all the 52 stuff, which I'm caught up with, rereading Valiant, golden age dc, marvel from beginning to current, and an assortment of mini series. I have a lot of work to do.

You MUST read Snyder & Capullo's book. MUST.Lightning Strike wrote:Also, I've been hearing a lot of good things about the new Batman book by Snyder and Capullo. I guess that if you're reading the major stories of the Batman's timeline you also MUST NOT forget to read Grant Morrison's epic run (which will be over this year). It's some of the best comics ever written, specially Batman & Robin (Vol. 01) 01-16.

I want to but I hate giving DC my money on anything involving the new 52

Re: What comics are you reading now?
Some of the New 52 is good. But, in a Marvel-esque way, much of it sucks. Batman, Green Lantern and a rare few odds n ends books are worth getting. The rest? Smells as bad as a Stan Lee story without Ditko or Kirby propping him up.Lightning Strike wrote:ShadowTuga wrote:You MUST read Snyder & Capullo's book. Re: What comics are you reading now?
Hey ShadowTuga, I saw this pic on the net:

It's supposed to be from Morrison's run but it doesn't say what issue. It looks like Paul Pelletier's art. Do you know if it is and/or what issue it's from?

Re: What comics are you reading now?
That's from Batman 655, the very first of his Batman run (not counting previous stuff like his JLA run or "Arkham Asylum"). The art is by Andy Kubert.Lightning Strike wrote:Hey ShadowTuga, I saw this pic on the net:

If you happen to find a copy of that particular single issue, you're in luck.
