New Valiant related blog I wrote. "Still the best!"

Post by manga4life »

This is a catch up of the past year of publishing as well as a promotional piece for my readers to try to get the word out for Valiant. Picture it a report card without being a report card, just a yearly look back at the best comic book publisher in the world right now. Enjoy!

I have to agree with pretty much everything you wrote in your blog. I have made a very similar journey as you over years, especially during the early 90's with X-Men.

Reading Valiant has made me a fan of comics again. During parts of my life I end up collecting comics out of habit instead of entertainment and enjoyment. There are some titles like Transmetropolitan, Preacher, 100 Bullets and Sin City where I enjoy everything about them and they are the titles I have re-read more than any other comic. Valiant is fast becoming a title in their league as I have done a couple of re-reads already.

I even have to agree with your choices of Valiant Comics as A&A was the one that I just struggle with and don't hold in as high regard as others, even though it is still good in its own right.

VEI and the Valiant Universe is completely new to me as I had no previous exposure to it but I am connected to the characters and I want to read their further adventures. When a universe can make me interested in every character, from the main characters to the secondary and villains, they are doing something right.

The best thing about Valiant is it is easy to get in to. I don't have to worry about 30 years of history or legacy characters that can't be changed so as to not upset the long term fans. This is fresh and exciting and everything that comics promise but rarely deliver. I can't see myself without Valiant now and I would be devastated if they shut down again.

I will fully support this company by buying the trades, buying the digital releases, buying the shirts (I wish I got the Shadowman and Valiant shirts that were available at Wonder-Con :() watching the movies, buying the Blu-Rays and buying the toys. Hell, if it is Valiant I want it.

Thanks for the kind words, bro! I'll be doing other Valiant related blogs in the future, especially ones based upon new titles that are coming out and yearly report cards and whatnot. It should be fun!
