I read them, often reluctantly. I would rather sit and read the entire issue in one chunk ... but I can't resist the idea of new Valiant stuff just sitting there waiting for me.

Don't read previews: 1,716 new pages in a year
Do read previews: 1,734 new pages in a year (at least the same total new pages per month, sometimes more)
Don't read previews: Headaches, back pain, panties in a bunch, trying to avoid spoilers
Do read previews: Big smiles, knowing looks, and smooth underoos, spoiler-city
Don't read previews: Late to the discussions, figuring out things a week or two after everyone else
Do read previews: Catch the references, discuss the possibilities, no need to wait
Don't read previews: Wait until release date to know anything, no fun most days.
Do read previews: A preview here, a preview there, everyday is preview-possible!
Don't read previews: Bah, humbug!
Do read previews: Please, sir, may I have another?

Re: To READ or NOT to READ the preview pages...
I like to scan the previews. I get a solid taste for the issue while not feeling like I'm getting too much information. I have found this has made the desire to read the issue AND the enjoyment of reading it greater.
I read all the previews for the first few issues of each book (of course) but felt like it led to too quick of a read later.

I prefer to savour the flavour on release day.
I used to read the previews but when 11 pages were coming out it made a really short read for release day, I've gone cold turkey since.

It seems I don't have as much will power as most of you to resist reading the preview pages haha, I'll work on that. That said, I would definitely like it better if they did the unlettered previews more often than not.

Re: To READ or NOT to READ the preview pages...
My stance is if it is a book I am getting, I tend to not read the previews, although that is broken from time-to-time (read the preview for this Wednesday's Wolverine & the X-Men). I still read the previews for Marvel books (including those that I get) mainly for the recap pages like in X-Factor or Deadpool. And, I download DC's sneak peek books that lack the guided view every week from Comixology.

I try to avoid the "wording" and just glimpse some of the art. Gotta say, even if you took a looksie at previews for the last Bloodshot, the story still blew me away.

Re: To READ or NOT to READ the preview pages...
+1. I used to read them. When I finally got my hands on Shadowman #1 (the relaunch I was most looking forward to), it felt so short. I find it's better to wait to read them in the context of the actual issues, although I do like the idea behind the previews for cross promoting the books to readers.hawkeyeps wrote:I prefer to savour the flavour on release day.

Re: To READ or NOT to READ the preview pages...
I found in the weeks or so leading up to Christmas, I was too busy to check the previews online. Now I find I'm anticipating the books more than I normally would have!
It's been a month since Christmas, and I haven't checked any more out.

Re: To READ or NOT to READ the preview pages...
I tend to read and reread most comics I buy (unless they suck, which Valiant has not), so I've never thought about avoiding the previews. I will say I got a bit tired of seeing Gafti get tortured the third (fourth?) time I read it.
Reading the Harbinger #0 preview multiple times was also tiresome.
