I would say FFX, as I have had it (and X 2) since they were new... yet have never played either of them.

As mentioned in the other thread, I am nowhere NEAR a "serious gamer."

There was one from the old Sega Genesis that I used to play a lot, but can't remember the name... a "sword & sorcery" type scroller where you chose either a warrior, a "Valkyrie," an elf or a dwarf as your character.

Golden Axe??
Golden Axe was a great game -- I loved how that midget would steal all your stuff while you slept then you woke up and got to kick the hell outta him.

No possible way to put them in correct order but heres my best guesses for around the top 10:

Tetris
Tempest 2000
Street Fighter 2 (and most every capcom fighter)
Half-Life (and every other Valve game)
Battlefield 1942
Legend of zelda(and every zelda except 3do)
Mario 64 (and every mario platformer or rpg)
Dragon Warrior (and probably every sequel)
UN Squadron (what can I say :? , I could beat it in 1 quarter)

And number 10... A tie between about 40-50 other games.
It's not that I don't have an avatar... I've just been working on it for the last few hundred years.

Heck, I'll throw down a list here - I don't game quite as often as I used to, but I still love me some vidja games! This is not in any order, that's too tough.

1]Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver (PS1)

2]Skyrim

3]Armored Core (series - some are better than others but I love the concept regardless)

4]Doom 3

5]Red Dead Redemption

6]Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (other titles may have more cool stuff in 'em, but I love the 80's/Miami Vice/Scarface feel of this one)

7]Silent Hill 2 (still my fav of all SH's)

8]Dead Space

9]Resident Evil 2 & 4

10]Alien Trilogy (PS1 - pretty dated now, but it was the best Aliens game at the time)

Honorable Mention;

Metal Gear Solid (PS1)
Robotech: Battlecry (PS2)
Super Metroid (SNES - I still play through it every once in a while!)
Killer Instinct (SNES - personal fav 'street fighter' type game)
Legend of Zelda (1st NES & 1st SNES games - I would love to get my hands on either game to play again)

Let's see:

1. Burnout Paradise - got the most bang for my buck of any game I've ever purchased. I've logged 300+ hours on this game and still don't have 100%. None of that time is wasted like in an RPG where you level grind for hours. It was all racing or completing online coop challenges. I need to get its spiritual successor, NFS: Most Wanted
2. Legend of Zelda: ALTTP
3. Legend of Zelda: OOT
4. Goldeneye
5. Legend of Zelda
6. Tales of Symphonia
7. Kingdom Hearts 2
8. Kingdom Hearts
9. Solomon's Key
10. Curse of Monkey Island

Wow. Tough call. It is like making a top 5 list of girls, I don't know where to start and would be afraid of who I am leaving out.

In no particular order. Some of these were just so fun for the time when they were published. Obviously I'm not firing up an Apple emulator to play some of these for more than a few minutes. My all time fave game damned if I can remember the title. It was one of the first games I played on Apple IIe. EDIT found it! Below the Root.

Asheron's Call
Call of Duty 2 / Call of Duty 4
So You Want To Be A Hero?
Fallout 3
The Bards Tale
Zork
Duke Nuke'em 3D
Quake
Below the Root
Killer Instinct

After having spent most of this year just playing anything Witcher, this list of mine needs a serious redo.

These are my top 3, nothing is quite close to these. But W3 IS THE BEST game I ever played. :D

01- Witcher 3
02- Skyrim
03- Arkham City

In no particular order, the rest:
KOTOR I (best SW thing after the first 3 movies, imho)
Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth
Samurai Shodown II
Oblivion
Arkham Asylum
God of War (ps2)
Championship Manager 2001

Honorable mentions:
The Witcher, Star Wars: Battlefront, Red Dead Redemption, Tecmo Super Bowl, Arkham Asylum/Origins.

I will never be a gamer for real, these are great games, critically speaking, but most of all these games gave me memories for life. Even Tecmo.

I have to update my list as I had not yet played Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. I cannot believe it took me so long to get around to playing this game. I owned it on PSP when it first came out but I had very little free time then. That game is maybe number 1 now. It far exceeds the other games in the franchise in terms of story, quality of game play, and sheer emotional heft. It's amazing that few Kingdom Hearts fans played it before its remaster on the PS3.

One cool thing about the game mechanics that I had not experienced in a game before is that you craft the special moves. All of them. From combos to magic to advanced combinations of attack combos and magic. The enemies drop simple moves (fire, ice, lightning, quick attack, etc.) and you can combine them to make every other skill that can be acquired in the game. You get recipes through the game, but there is a randomness to the crafting that allows you to experiment. My second playthrough, I spent time in the second level grinding abilities to craft and had every end level spell for my character at the beginning of the game. It made for a very enjoyable playthrough.

The final hidden boss character is also probably the best enemy battle I've ever experienced in games. I probably made 2-300 attempts or more before defeating him with one character (you have to beat him with all 3 characters) and I never ever got frustrated. It was like learning to play a piece of music and having to spend a lot of practice on the really difficult portions of the piece. At the end, I felt like Neo in The Matrix. I could just see how to beat him. He's the kind of character that you cannot make any mistakes on. One hit and you're dead.

Wow, it’s been close to TEN years since I last posted in this thread!!

I saw ShadowTuga mention Hollow Knight above and I had to chime in - I love that game!!!

I have not really had time to indulge in very many new games over the past decade, but I can probably add 5 new ones that I have enjoyed immensely, starting with -

Hollow Knight
(just a beautiful, elegant and deceptively simple Metroid-Vania era platformer, only with a much more rewarding world to explore)

Doom
(1st one on PS4 - a total blast)

Destiny
(still buy all dlc and season passes even if I have little time to enjoy it all)

GTA 5
(Love the heist concept - still haven’t completed this game though)

Horizon: Zero Dawn
(Cool story and game mechanics, very enjoyable open world to explore. Still haven’t finished this one either)

I should also note that I bought a digital copy of Witcher 3 years ago but still have not even attempted to play it yet. Really want to do so at some point!
