What comics are you reading now?

Everything else comic-related that's not VALIANT-related.

Read the first 3 CHEW tpbs, Not quite up to adding to my favorites or collecting the issues, but I did like it and it was fun enough that I'll keep getting the tpbs when I find them cheap enough. The new Poyo comic did catch my attention though... so I might pick that one up if its still in my lcs.

Picked up Walking dead Compendium tpb(1-48), liking that so far 1/4th the way through which is saying a lot since I'm not much of a zombie story fan.

Read the first few tpbs of Ex Machina, really liking it, but put reading the rest on hold until I finish the Walking dead compendium.

Other than that the only thing I've read recently has been new Valiant and Saga, loving both.

Top of list of to be read next(not previously mentioned):
Fables vol 16 on.
Bone
Black Panther (Christopher Priest Run)
Just read some ace stuff there dude :thumb: I'd highly advise going for the Poyo one-shot, it was one of the funniest issues I've ever read (up there with the JLI and Q&W)!

I had v.2 of bone for about 2 years and never read it... my little sister (11) came to visit on the weekend and I gave it to her. By the time they'd driven home she'd read it all and said it was great... maybe I should have read it.

Don't wanna put a downer on your reading but don't get too excited about that Fables trade...

Glad to see that Fables is still missing the mark.

I guess I made the right choice in giving up on it. I'll always consider vol 1-10 as a really great run and will buy those in HC.

 Yeah I think you're right. I was okay with some of the Dark stuff but since then it's been pretty painful, the last two arcs were trash (to me). I've finally dropped it, probably my longest running monthly :(

I'm really getting into all things Batman.

I was just following (and loving) the main Batman title, but the new movie inspired me to try the other Batman books.

So I bought:

Batman Inc. #1
Batman and Robin #10
Batman: The Dark Knight #11 (The new writer was really good.)

and I loved them all.

and I will try Detective Comics #13 when John Layman comes on board as the new writer.

Looks like I'll be adding several bat-books to my pull list.
Favorite books: Black Hammer, Bloodshot, Divinity, Justice League Dark, Marvel Two-In-One, Thor.

I had been away from the Bat titles until last year's relaunch, and I have really enjoyed Batman & Robin (both series). I really like Damien. I tried all 12 or 13 Bat titles for a while, but I'm down to Batman, Detective (although I've almost dropped it a few times), Batwoman, BM&R, and Batman Inc. Batman Inc (both series) is on the fence. I try and I try to like Grant Morrison, but I rarely want to read anything of his twice. The one exception being Doom Patrol.
This post has been carefully constructed so as to add absolutely nothing to any discussion or topic.

Scarlet Spider #6. I just stopped pre-ordering this book, but I'm not sure why and I'll probably go back to it. Every time I read it, it's a very enjoyable read that's beautiful to look at and leaves me wanting more.

I feel the same way. I still need to read #6, but I loved the first five issues. This series is really a gem.
Pull List: I only buy TPB's, HC's and Hellboy comics

It is. Stegman is a fantastic artist (probably one of my favorites after seeing this series) and the few different things that I've read by Yost have always been good. It's only 20 story pages, but it feels like alot more in a good way.

I know Stegman is being put on FF or something like that. Great for him, that he's getting on a big book, but I ain't reading FF regardless. Koi Pham is up next on this book and I'm not too familiar with his stuff.

There were some really neat things in this issue with Aracely in this issue that could be interesting going forward.

Thanks to OTV praise I'm reading Fables right now. Finished with trades 1 and 2. Good stuff so far. Not quite Sandman level yet for me yet, but I will keep reading.

Just read the new Hawkeye by Fraction and Aja. A really good, self-contained story with a realistic, "behind the scenes" look at one of Marvel's oldest Avengers. Beautiful Aja art as usual in there as well. This is the thematic successor to Fraction's Immortal Iron Fist and I can only hope he does for Clint what he (and Brubaker) did for Danny Rand. If you are not a fan of typical Marvel fare, then this is the type of book for you.

It is too bad I have been so disappointed with Fraction's Defenders, which takes the opposite approach by making the characters over-the-top parodies of themselves, because this is the kind of take I would have liked to have seen on that group. Fraction showed in IIF that he can write a grounded, street-level view of a character juxtaposed with the fantastic elements a superhero must face. Not sure why it couldn't have been done with Defenders, but I will continue to pick up Hawkeye until Marvel inevitably cancels it in a year and a half.

+2, and allow me to add, it picks up in 3 and really takes off there and in 4. If you aren't engrossed by volume 6, it just isn't your cup of tea. Me, I was hooked from the start but didn't realize its greatness until the 4th volume.

My monthly list.

DC:
-Batman (I DO love Scott Snyder's work. I DO love the Court of Owls. There. I said it. Also, Cappullo's art is godly)
-Batman Inc. (Grant is an insane individual who happens to write Batman stories like no one. This series is a MUST read)
-Detective Comics (worst book of the pile, but I will give Layman a chance)
-Batman: The Dark Knight (Love the art. Hate the stories. Almost dropped it, but since Hurwitz arrived things are waaaaaaay better)
-Batman & Robin (It started strong, but it's nothing special as of now. Possible drop.)
-Justice League (Pretty. Pictures.)
-Arkham Unhinged (I liked the game, that's why)

Marvel:
-Avengers vs X-Men (truly disappointed with myself for falling into this 6 month trap)
-Avengers Vs X-Men: Versus ( facepalm )
-Uncanny X-Men (Gillen has given this franchise their best book since "Astonishing" by Whedon/Cassaday)
-Wolverine & The X-Men ( I LOVE this book. Hilarious dialogue, amazing art. Will be my only Marvel book when NOW! arrives)

Valiant:
- Everything, so far. It quickly became my favourite current publisher.

I also continue to expand my Bat-trade collection and I'm also "trade-waiting" for Uncanny X-Force (which is the best book by Marvel right now, IMHO).
Oh, and I'm also collecting the new- AND AMAZING- TMNT in trades, since the IDW relaunch.

Minutemen #1. This was good Darwyn Cooke. I'm not getting the rest of them, but I could see myself getting the collection or buying them out of dollar bins.
