I just re-read the first 6 issues and I'm going to go out on a limb and say this isn't just the best new series (non superhero) of the year, but...one of the great SF books of the last 20 years. Yes, it's that damn good.

It's coming. Remember, the book tends to arrive in the early part of the month and they skipped this month so, it shouldn't be too long now.

I recall reading that they were deliberately going to take a brief hiatus before #7 comes out, but I didn't hear how long of a break it would be. Anyone else know?

I recall reading that they were deliberately going to take a brief hiatus before #7 comes out, but I didn't hear how long of a break it would be. Anyone else know?

Based on when the books were solicited, they took a month off between when 6 and 7 are going to be released and released the first trade during that month.

I don't mind the wait tbh, at least I know the writing/art will be there.

I don't mind 2 or 3 months between 6 issue arcs, if the quality remains high. If taking 8-12 weeks off is what is needed for Staples and Vaughn to keep it up, then go for it, I say, and don't make any apologies.

This is one at the very top of my pull list. The art is simply brilliant but the story is better.

I too hope is goes for 1000 issues....assuming I can still see by then!

Is it late? The trade came out in October. I think the next issue is set for November. Have you heard it is going to be late?

I think it's releasing per the plan. I remember the letter column saying they needed a month to maintain. #7 comes out Nov 14.

Just read the trade. This book is perfect as singles or trades. I can't wait for the over-sized HC to come out.

What a great book!

The characters in this are all awesome. The little bits that BKV drops throughout the first several issues shows that this is going to be a big long story with lots of interesting things to come.

I've heard people comment that the cursing in the book comes off as gratuitous. It reads naturally to me. This doesn't read like Preacher or The Boys in that over the top way at all. If there's anything I could've done without, it would've been that naked man pyramid in the Sextillion. I could've done without seeing 6 dongs in one panel.

Interesting thought. So true. I really love Daredevil and Hawkeye. Other than that I don't go out of my way for any DC or Marvel superhero stuff.

I think the Marvel & DC fare is just getting too bland, overall. And re-boot-y. And 'safe', because uber-huge corporations own the characters and want to perpetually make money from them in other forms of media.

QFT. I cannot remember the last time an all new superhero book got me excited. (VEI's stuff is a relaunch, so doesn't count) It's been a long time. CGW/DHH long, maybe. That's almost 20 years. Two years of reboots and not much else. Ugh

In the spirit of comics moving into other genres, Dynamite had excellent runs on the Lone Ranger and Zorro, particularly with the first volumes of each.

It was Dynamite. There was so much of the Green Hornet stuff, though, which makes it difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff. Many of the side-series suffered horribly from publishing delays. The best two were definitely Green Hornet Year One - set in the 30s and penned by Matt Wagner - and Green Hornet Strikes - set in the future, detailing the adventures of a descendant of today's Green Hornet.
