Who's dying for some new Quantum & Woody!?
This is the one Valiant book that I'd absolutley love to have pick-up where they left off, especially because they have done that once before. Either way, I just can't wait for this title to drop, hope it's not way down the line!

Re: Who's dying for some new Quantum & Woody!?
Hi there!
I voted no for two reasons:
1) I hate capes in the Valiant Universe. It's ok for characters with history (like Batman, Superman etc) but it seemed odd when it happened in VH1 and VH2 as Valiant is more modern?
2) Q & W wouldn't fit in with the rest of the new Valiant Universe, it's dark, moody and subversive...Q&W isn't!
Alternatively...if they released Q&W in their own stand alone universe separate to X-O, Harby etc then I'd be alright with that!
Good debate topic though!

Most of us agree to keep them separate from the Valiant Universe. A good suggestion was making them the comic book within the valiant universe, for example you may see Sting reading an issue of Q&W! Best thing about this is we'd get to read em too!

I would love to see Quantum and Woody. LOVE it. Frankly, these guys at VEI are pretty much hitting it outta the park on everything lately. However they do it, I will love love LOVE it.

Could publish it under the "Valiant Comics Acclaim Heroes" banner?

It's not that I don't have an avatar... I've just been working on it for the last few hundred years.

So your saying the Valiant Universe is and should be incredibly one dimensional?! Personally I hope Valiant become big enough to experiment in all styles of comic genres, maybe also a crime/supernatural Dr. Mirage, comedy and superheroes in Q&W, old school big monster hunting with Turok (one day), science fiction thrillers with Magnus a la Blade Runner. Seriously though, I can't see why the VU should only deal with grittier themes, in fact A&A barely fits your summary.Dallow Spicer1 wrote:Hi there!

While I simply cant see Q&W in the current revamp of the new universe, I do believe there is a place for them under something in the way of an Elseworlds or Ultimates kind of imprint. For Q&W to fit in the way things are, they would have to be changed dramatically which at that point you might as well not even call them Q&W.

If integrated into VEI, I could see a revisionist Q&W being successful. Too much like the original and it would be lost, unless kept seperate from VEI continuity wise. If someone like Patch Z. redesigned them, that would work.

Maybe once they've cancelled the A&A title, right now the two titles would seem redundant without a massive shift in tone.
What we need is innovation and even revolution—but not so much in the form of marketing ploys and doohickeys. What is needed is bold creative vision, excellent stories, and brilliant storytelling, in a word, entertainment. -- Jim Shooter

Re: Who's dying for some new Quantum & Woody!?
for any Q&W fan, changing them would take away the whole point of releasing them! Sure its a buddy comic but its somewhere south of Archer & armstrong as in raunchy comedy, Sattire comedy not just funny haha but funny wtf, hillarious. There's nothing in the Valiant Universe like this, good thing the Guys up at VEI own the property! [Or partially do at least]

Re: Who's dying for some new Quantum & Woody!?
where is the "Only if Priest and Bright are doing it" option?
I know that the original A&A was quite different from Q&W but to everybody else, especially new Valiant readers, is it different enough?
I would contend, no. At least not this early in the VEI launch.
A&A was my absolute favorite book. The new A&A has only a passing resemblance to it.

I would definitely like to see them return. It will be interesting to see if VEI makes a separate universe or tries to fit them into the VU.

Hello fellow UK Valiant fan (I'm now aware of 3 of us!). I agree that A&A barely fits my summary and whilst I am enjoying that book it's my least favourite of the re-launches. My preference is a coherent Valiant universe, you wouldn't put Laurel and Hardy in Star Wars would you? I'd go for the separate universe option!ian_house wrote:So your saying the Valiant Universe is and should be incredibly one dimensional?!
