CGC grading at Cons question...

Post by tchalla8 »

Can someone give me some insight to how CGC conducts their business at Cons? Are they only there for signature witness grading or will they grade any book you bring to them as long as you pay their fee? Planning to go to a Con in a month, and I want to know how to plan for their services.

Thanks in advance

Yes they are there to witness and you can bring your books to have graded. Some events they grade on the spot.

I'm just glad it was pretty good, long and drawn out. (that's what she said.)

Dont they have a minimum charge of $150 to grade on the spot though?
It's not that I don't have an avatar... I've just been working on it for the last few hundred years.

It has been some time since I have done this but there was a time they would return books to you at the same con. Say you dropped books off on Friday you could get them back on Saturday. I don't recall there being a price premium for the service.

CGC will have on-site grading at some cons, but not all. I think they are just accepting submissions for NYCC. I'm not sure how the Signature Series authentication works with them.

I jusat got back from mi-Ohio. They accepted submissions, but they will go back to Sarasota for grading. The Signature Series will also go to Sarasota. In Chicago recently, they did on-site grading.
