It would be cool if they went Planetary with him and had him investigating global supernatural happenings.

It would also be cool if I stopped posting breaking news/pics at the same time as other members, LOL!

I'm so nervous... but also so excited!!

I would agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

Hopefully it will be Jack Boniface. Like many VALIANT characters, its about the alter-ego that is also intriguing.

Re: ShadowMan!
It's gotta be Jack. With Bloodshot, given his new status as being implanted with memories, it is reasonable to mess with his alter ego. Can't see that with anyone else.vaevictis wrote:Hopefully it will be Jack Boniface. Like many VALIANT characters, its about the alter-ego that is also intriguing.

Very cool! I hope he is Jack boniface and old Nettie. Like it was said above the back story is what made the character so great.

Re: ShadowMan!
I'm also hoping it will be a new take on Jack Boniface.
My only concern is that the Acclaim Comics version might be the more well known, due to the PS1 and PS2 games, and so they might borrow heavily from that take on the character.
Either way, this is one of the most exciting teaser images released this year.

This is one of the few characters who may warrant taking from the Acclaim run. I still want Jack and the mask, but there was some solid stuff in Volume 3 worth mining in a new series.Xtianhardy wrote:I'm also hoping it will be a new take on Jack Boniface.

Re: ShadowMan!
Some of the more supernatural stuff from the Acclaim run was pretty cool, I'll admit (Deadside, Jaunty, most of Garth Ennis' run), but I really enjoyed the atmospheric, noirish tone and ambiguity of the original series (ie: is Jack possessed by a voodoo spirit or just a crazy guy who likes to fight people at night after he's bitten by Lydia?).BugsySig wrote:This is one of the few characters who may warrant taking from the Acclaim run. Re: ShadowMan!
Don't get me wrong...Jack, Nettie, New Orleans, Jazz, Sax, Voodoo, Loa...I am old-school Bob Hall Shadowman all the way (except for the blue jumpsuit). But Shadowman Volume 3 had a few elements that could be incorporated into a new series without taking anything away from that original vision. And let's face it, this will not be your daddy's (or maybe more like older cousin's?) Shadowman. Drug addict, rapist Pete anybody?FormerReader wrote:Heath wrote:No.BugsySig wrote:This is one of the few characters who may warrant taking from the Acclaim run. Double no.

That should be the book's tagline: "This ain't your daddy's Shadowman!"

Re: ShadowMan!
I just figured out what character the teaser design reminds me of...The Destroyer.

I agree. Mike LeRoi's version is well worth bringing back. No reason why they can't have multiple incarnations.BugsySig wrote:This is one of the few characters who may warrant taking from the Acclaim run. Re: ShadowMan!
I'd have to re-read the Acclaim stuff to know if I was okay with it. I recall issues with the bouncing, talking skull (Jaunty?) and being put off by it. But I had pretty much written off Valiant by then and was just reading with disgust at how radically different everything was.

Re: ShadowMan!
Can't wait to see the eventual Master Darque teaser image. Hopefully they only use VH1 for inspiration on the character design.

I agree. If Master Darque doesn't have his tattoos I might go ballisticdeway81 wrote:Can't wait to see the eventual Master Darque teaser image. Hopefully they only use VH1 for inspiration on the character design.

Definitey. The VH2 Darque was a manscaping foppish travesty.
