Time to build some anticipation...
Man, Joshua Dysart can talk! And the stuff he says? Pure gold.
And Ed (Collector's Paradise), the coolest comics retailer around? Yup.
So much good stuff in the next episode, we're breaking it into two parts.

Part 1 will be out this Sunday, Part 2 will be out the following Sunday. Conveniently, just before, and just after Harbinger #1 hits stands, and the content will reflect that.tchalla8 wrote:When can we expect to see Part 1 available?Dr. Solar wrote:Time to build some anticipation...

Just listened to the recent podcast at the convention that interviewed the team, including Josh. He sounds like a great guy, and I loved the way he views his job.Elveen wrote:Dr. Solar wrote:Time to build some anticipation...

because I know how cool Josh is and I can't wait to hear it.

Re: Only The Valiant Podcast
I was so impressed with Dysart that the next morning I ordered the first trade of Unknown Solder, a Vertigo title that he wrote.
He said one issue that was collected in the fourth trade followed the travels of an AK-47 over the course of 30 years. That is one of the most interesting premises for a single issue that I have heard in a long time. That issue was also nominated for an Eisner.

The thing I've noticed from talking to Josh twice now, is that he has a very interesting way of looking at things, and is great at finding interesting, creative angles from which to look at the stories he writes.jmatt wrote:I love creative concepts. I think you'll hear what I mean a little bit in the episode that is coming out tomorrow, and a lot more so in the episode coming out a week after that.

Re: Only The Valiant Podcast
Episode 73 is out!
Harbinger Prelude and Launch Party
With Josh Dysart and Ed Greenberg from Collector's Paradise
Folks on the board know who Ed is, from Collector's Paradise. He's a comics retailer, and a huge Valiant fan.
Folks on this board also know who Joshua Dysart is, he writes a little book called "Harbinger".
These folks join us to talk about writing Harbinger, what we can look forward to, about selling comics, and holding awesome events, like the Harbinger Release Party that Ed is holding with Josh in his Collector's Paradise stores.
We're helping promote his event, because, well, it sounds great, and Ed's approach to selling comics is great.
There are no spoilers for Harbinger in this episode (except one, and we give warning to jump ahead if you don't want to hear it), but BE WARNED! Listening to this episode may make the days between now and this Wednesday seem to go incredibly slow!
Only The Valiant Episode 73
And yes, the full-spoiler conversation about Harbinger will be up next weekend for you folks, after you all have a chance to read Harbinger.
Also, we're holding a contest to give away some cool signed Valiant books, courtesy of Collector's Paradise. Listen to the episode, and check out the show notes to learn how to enter. Hint: get your retweet buttons ready.
I really think this episode is the perfect way to get amped up for Harbinger, check it out!

Good episode, I enjoyed it. I have only started in on listening to the podcast (went back and listened to 64-present) definitely looking forward to more.

Great Episode.
Now with the Ninjak Tease and hype....
Looks to me like 270-8-NINJAK was a great number to have.

I listened to the full interview a few days back and I have to say, another great show! I really like how y'all are able to get the creators on there. A lot of what he said got me really excited over where Harbinger will be going.

My foresight was incredible! I always believed in Ninjak! (pay no attention to the fact that it was the only phone number with a Valiant name I could get other than 879-ARMORIN)drmirage wrote:Looks to me like 270-8-NINJAK was a great number to have.
We would love to get voicemails with listeners views on X-O Manowar and Harbinger for the next episode, we'll be discussing this month's issues, and we love to hear from you!
The creators we've been able to meet have been very generous with their time. We appreciate them so, so much.etos45 wrote:I listened to the full interview a few days back and I have to say, another great show! I really like how y'all are able to get the creators on there. Re: Only The Valiant Podcast
I love this podcast! I didn't discover it (or these boards) until a month ago, but listened to all 70ish podcasts in less than a month. Some days I was listening to 5 podcasts in a day
If any of the hosts read this - thank you!
I'm having a blast re-reading all of my Valiants and also completing my VH1 collection this summer (I'm getting close). The catalyst that brought me back into Valiant was a combination of the new books + re-organizing my comics recently and thinking 'Damn I love Valiant' as I did so.
