Help identifying random old weapon

I've been sifting through old toys and trying to figure out what goes with what. I apparently had a pretty wide range of interests growing up, since I'm finding so much random stuff. I know we have some "vintage" toy buffs on here, so I figure I would ask about a random weapon I found that I'm having a hard time identifying.


My first thought was that it's a Battle Beasts weapon, but it doesn't seem to match up with any figures on a fan site I found. Anyone know what it is?
