I've spent the last 10 years and most of my life's fortune trying to get something rolling, the last two were done in by the vicissitudes of the market and my own inexperience. This one will work, I think I finally have it figured out.paradise wrote:John, I agree with you. My views also skew away from the "entitlement" generation mentality. I opened my first business at 18, my first retail store at 23. Everything I have done happened because I NEEDED it to happen. And I think Joshua knows not to be preachy. What's great is that the book does play with those situations, it fits into the current "1% vs 99%" conversation, which CAN help the book find a spot and get some nice publicity.
That's why it's like nails on a blackboard when I hear people talk about how they're entitled to the earnings of others. It must look easy when you don't have devise a viable marketing plan, worry about every dollar you spend or make payroll.
It seems to me that Dysart is taking an even handed approach. I hope the books bear that out.
And thanks for calling me John, Ed.
Good luck John! I hope everything works out for you.

nice reviews.
only 2 or 3 out of about 10 comic shops here even ordered the book.
WTF is going on???
Atom needs to call moar Canadian stores, otherwise Valiant will die a slow death up here (again)

If it hasn't gone to print yet, we know what critic review we'll find on the cover of Harbinger #2...BugsySig wrote:Comicbookbin: 10/10! "The most important comic this decade."

Some shop owners are just plain stubborn. They should be reading all the same industry buzz we've been reading since the beginning of the year.MarrowMan wrote:nice reviews.

Re: Harbinger #1 Reviews
Stopped at Midtown Comics last night (40th Street location; they have 3 now!). The XO 2 and Harby 1 (regular and pullbox side by side) had huge stacks on the top shelf, and they had the XO 2 variant for $20 behind the counter along with the other Harby 1 variant, same price. I didn't see the harby 1 voice variant (not saying they didn't have it, just didn't see it and didn't ask).
Funny thing, when I gave him my discount code, he said it had been SEVEN years since I was in the shop!!!

It's nice to be able to go to a single thread like this to see what reviews on this book have been posted online. Any others out there?
Valiant is the son of the New Universe.

I stopped updating because there were so many I couldn't keep up. Valiant's Facebook and twitter accounts have a pretty good running list though.StarBrand wrote:It's nice to be able to go to a single thread like this to see what reviews on this book have been posted online. Any others out there?

Did some checking, and I see what you mean about there being lots of reviews of this book. It seems to have been well received.BugsySig wrote:I stopped updating because there were so many I couldn't keep up.
