Harbinger #1 question. SPOILERS!
OK, I've read the book. Really enjoyed it. Buy can someone tell me what the second to last panel of the book is supposed to be after the big splash panel? The smaller one. Is that a hand? With a ring or something? I can't figure out what that panel is supposed to be.

I wondered the same thing. Sorta looks like a button being pushed. HAS to be important.

Re: Harbinger #1 question. SPOILERS!
Could have been a little more clear.

Re: Harbinger #1 question. SPOILERS!
It sort of speaks to my one issue with the book. Panels of artistic excellence followed up by panels of muddiness. Fortunately, that's correctable.depluto wrote:Could have been a little more clear.

Re: Harbinger #1 question. SPOILERS!
It took me a minute to even guess what it was, but I'm thinking Pete's toe on the pill Joe spit out earlier. He was sitting by the pool at the time, and it looks to be the same color. Could have been the dog's paw on the pill too.
This post has been carefully constructed so as to add absolutely nothing to any discussion or topic.

After you said that, it does look like Pete's foot stepping on the pill. For some reason I thought it was somebody pressing a blue button to call in the troops.

OK, if that's the pill, then what's the significance of that panel? Maybe I need to re-read with new context.etos45 wrote:Good call!dbngaa wrote:It took me a minute to even guess what it was, but I'm thinking Pete's toe on the pill Joe spit out earlier. Re: Harbinger #1 question. SPOILERS!
It was Joe not taking the pill that led to all the events after. I guess they figure it was a way of bringing that point home.tchalla8 wrote:OK, if that's the pill, then what's the significance of that panel? I had to take a second look at that too. At least reading the digital version allowed me to zoom in.
Definitely the dogs paw stepping on the pill Joe had spit out earlier.

Do you think Harada used some form of mind control to make him spit it out and now he was covering his tracks?BugsySig wrote:I had to take a second look at that too. At least reading the digital version allowed me to zoom in.

Re: Harbinger #1 question. SPOILERS!
You can't tell if it is deliberate or accidental just from the one panel, so no way of knowing. Given there is a SWAT team bearing down on Pete, I doubt he would ever have noticed the pill.etos45 wrote:Do you think Harada used some form of mind control to make him spit it out and now he was covering his tracks?BugsySig wrote:I had to take a second look at that too. Perhaps it is more representative of Harada breaking Pete of his self medicating habits?

Or it could be representative of Harada manipulating events (Kind of the same thing, but more ominous).BugsySig wrote:You can't tell if it is deliberate or accidental just from the one panel, so no way of knowing. I don't think it was Harada covering his tracks, because Stancheck would be able to see through that, unless Harada continuously focuses on partially blocking Pete's friend's mind so that Pete is unable to sense his friend's off the medication (He was able to sense it, earlier in the issue, because of his friend's chaotic thought patterns).
Then again, Harada could be affecting Stancheck's mind, to a limited degree, already, and moving the pill would cover that particular track.

Just got the digital version and I don't think it's the dog. Zoom in and you can see the toe nail. I don't know a lot about dogs, but they don't have nails like that, right?BugsySig wrote:I had to take a second look at that too. At least reading the digital version allowed me to zoom in.

I thought it was Pete's fist punching the pill Joe spit out into the ground.

you can see little shards of pill coming off of it. Some amount of force is being applied to it.

I think we can call this a failed panel. But 1 out of 100 ain't bad.Blood of Heroes wrote:etos45 wrote:Blood of Heroes wrote:I thought it was Pete's fist punching the pill Joe spit out into the ground.

yeah, we we still don't have a consensus on what it is...and even more important to me...what its for...myron wrote:I wouldn't call it a failed panel at all...just look at the discussion it's bringing.tchalla8 wrote:I think we can call this a failed panel. Absolutely. There is a reason it is SO close to the end.tchalla8 wrote:yeah, we we still don't have a consensus on what it is...and even more important to me...what its for...myron wrote:I wouldn't call it a failed panel at all...just look at the discussion it's bringing.tchalla8 wrote:I think we can call this a failed panel. Re: Harbinger #1 question. SPOILERS!
This I agree with, but again, the reason is unclear. It is either a summation of the issue in a way OR an ominous symbol of Harada's influence. Either way, it has sparked more debate than I am sure either Dysart or Evans could have imagined.kevinbastos wrote:Absolutely.
