So, with all the hype and hysteria created by XO's launch today (and success probably) when does the new Valiant announce book #5 (Shadowman? Eternal Warrior? Psi-Lords? etc)?

Or does VEI have such a great market plan, will they stick to the announced plan of no more than 4 for awhile?

Thoughts?

I imagine ew, rai, shadowman are up to bat

It was posted here somewhere that at C2E2 there was a video that had the Rai image and said April 2013. If that's true, I'd expect an announcement in December or January. I wouldn't be surprised if another 3 titles were added monthly after that.

Warren did say something about 6 titles by Winter 2013 and I think 8 is a good goal to hit for a while. That would be 2 books per week, which would keep Valiant relevent in the market without sacrificing quality, until enough revenue starts coming in to expand further (to say 12 titles by year 4).

Shooter always said the goal for Valiant back in 90-91 was 8-9 titles for those reasons I mentioned above. Despite his issues over the past few years, the guy was pretty smart when it came to things like this and VEI would be wise to follow a similar model.

Edit: So I didn't really answer the question of the topic, so I will say around the time of Comicon this year for the next announcement. Not sure of VEI's plans for SDCC, if any, but it would more-or-less coincide with the launch of the 4th book (A&A) and give ample time to build toward any winter releases.

Rai in April 2013 sounds good to me!

I would actually like to see a H.A.R.D. Corps eventually spin off from Harbinger. I think the premise had potential and with a good creative team can really hit with an audience. Think DC's recent Thunder Agents in vibe
