What comics are you reading now?

Everything else comic-related that's not VALIANT-related.

Reading Marvel Zombies right now. The first and second volumes were okay, the third was really cool and I'm currently on the fourth, which is really good too.

Read Eternity Smith #1, Ms Tree #1, and Raven Chronicles 1-3 last week. I'll give all thre titles a chance and read more. I liked Ms Tree best of the three, and have already bought more back issues of that title to read.

The issue is part 3 of The Judas Contract storyline which is about Deathstroke the Terminator. This was my first time ever reading a Teen Titans book and it was pretty good. Maybe some of you all can answer a few questions:

1. Are the Teen Titans series worth reading? This is literally the only issue I've read. I think I have the first Deathstroke issue around here somewhere.

2. Was Deadpool originally just a rip-off of Deathstroke the Terminator? They are both mercenaries and Deathstroke's name is Slade Wilson. Deadpool = Wade Wilson. It has to be a rip-off of Deathstroke, right?
This also the issue where Nightwing acquires his name? I always thought that little chat with Supes was pretty cool.

2. Yerp.
Nah. No Superman in this issue. Maybe that's in the Annual which is part 4 of the story.

Daredevil: Battlin Jack Murdock by Wells and some other dude. 4 issue mini broken up into 4 issues. This was pretty good. The art was a bit like Luther Strode.

Exiles #1-100 was great fun! It was then relaunched into New Exiles, which Claremont quickly turned into a bore-fest. That lasted for 18 issues and was then relaunched as Exiles vol. II, written by Jeff Parker. Parker brought it back to more of what made the series great - but the damage was already done to the title's reputation and it was quickly canceled at issue #6.

Next up is Dark Avengers #1-16!

I read Police Action yesterday and just got finished Chaos and The Death of Optimus Prime just a few hours ago.

I actually did a long review of Transformers: Heart of Darkness #1-4 and Transformers #19-23 which is the prelude arcs but my PC got a glitch before I posted it and I didn't back it up and haven't felt like rewriting it so I did a very short review of them on the last page so this is actually the second half of a MUCH longer review.

Just spent ages trying to find the page with no success. It's from Nightwing Secret Origins #1 1999. Here's how the chat goes:

Superman is flying up to Dick, who it sitting on a roof.
Supes: Batman's not with you and you're...
Dick: I'm not Robin anymore. That part of my life is over.
S: Well, I'm not looking for a partner and...
D:Thats not why I'm here. I just needed someone to talk to. Someone I respect. Someone who'll understand. I'm not sure where to go now, what to do.
S: Have you thought of pitching it all? Just living the rest of your life as Dick Grayson?
D: That seemed like a really cool thing to do. For about five seconds. But I dedicated my life to being Robin. And I always thought-
S: -That someday you'd be Batman.
D: I never told anyone that before.
S: This reminds me of a story-
D: From Kansas?
S: Krypton.
D: Cool.
S: There was a man on my homeworld many centuries before my birth who was cast out of his family as you were. He dreamt of justice. He dreamt of helping the weak. He dreamt of showing his family that he was better than they gave him credit for. He used his talents and his skills to fight for those who couldn't fight for themselves. He became a legend.
D: And did his family ever realize their mistake?
S: Does it matter?
D: I guess not. What was his name?
S: No one knew his real name. He was called only... Nightwing.
D: I like it.

Just started rereading cerebus. Read the first two issues which were okay. My goal is to read the whole 300 issue run (unless I get distracted).

In the past I have only read the first 220 issues (through guys), so I would like to finish the series.

Also read the latest issue of Invincible and loved it. The past page of the issue has got me excited.
Pull List: I only buy TPB's, HC's and Hellboy comics

Nifty! I hope to do this one day, as well. I've already put together the set (via the phonebooks) but just haven't set out to do it, yet.

That's the one book that I hate waiting on my DBCs shipment for. Might have to double up on it. I often do.

Since I'll finally be making my way back to a LCS this summer on a regular basis (Valiant) I've been looking around for what else I might want to add. Never been a fan of much of DC but might add the New 52 Batman. Anyone reading that one? Also I liked some of the titles from IDW and DYNAMITE, does anyone recommend anything from those publishers? Also how is Daredevil these days? That had always been a favorite of mine.

I've been doing the same thing, Crow. Think I'm going to add Batman and Detective for a bit. Always a Batman fan, and since I'm not really picking up anything else new on a regular basis I thought I'd see how the new teams were doing. That may change when I read the issues that are currently out, but that's where I'm leaning.
This post has been carefully constructed so as to add absolutely nothing to any discussion or topic.

Read a few books today.

Luther Strode #4 - Still enjoying this series. I thought the first three issues were amazing. In this issue Luther is finding out that he is not the only one with hard core abilities. I felt that this issue was good, but not the best of the series so far.

Xenoholics #4 - I have been reading this because it looked interesting and has been a fun read. Issue #4 was okay and I think i am done reading this series.

Chew #23 - I swear that this book never disappoints. I always laugh and the stories are outstanding. If you are not reading Chew, you should be.

DD isn't for everyone, but I enjoyed it when I read it a few years ago. I liked the idea of another layer of reality just beyond this one and the way the main character interacted with it. Plus, the design of the creatures? Just fantastic.

Chew is probably the best book on the market, right now.
