Total noob question

Post by Johnny U »

Hey guys this is my first post so be gentle :D
I couldn't find a place to introduce myself so here it goes. My name is Johnny and I used to collect Valiant in the early 90's but at the time I couldn't afford most of the Pre-Unity issues because hey were in high demand. Now I'm in the process of reading all the issues in order as best I can according to the list man of the atom made. I'm bearly at Solar 2 on the list I have a ways to go but the more I read the more excited I get!
Anyway this may sound dumb to some of you but I figure this is the best place to ask so my question is about Rai 3 I see two covers CGC graded and wondered what is with the cover that has Rai fighting Magnus I've never seen this cover before.

Welcome to the board. I've moved this post to the correct location "My Valiant Story".

The Rai #3 with Rai fighting Magnus is the flipside of Magnus #7.
CGC incorrectly slabbed the book as Rai #3, it's actually Magnus #7.

Welcome to the bored!

Your story sounds pretty similar to lotsa folks. I was 12 or 13 when Valiant was coming out, couldn't afford any of the back issues.

It was nice and sweet to get all those back issues finally.

Welcome back - like you, I started then, too.

Good advice? Look for those BIG lots ob ebay - missing a few issues, but not too bad on the full cost - versus buying issue by issue.
Hey, look! I have a podcast!
And a Website!

Johnny U,

Welcome! If you haven't already, check out the main website, where you can find images of all Valiant covers. You'll find that Magnus issues #5-8 were flip books that had Rai #1-4 on the opposite side. This was a Rai mini-series that is different from the Rai ongoing series that started later.

Hope that helps!
