As someone who loved the original Archer and Armstrong, I gotta say this makes my stomach turn.
It's so far off the mark, I am astonished they released this.
Everything else has been so top notch, then follow up with this. I have no idea what they are thinking but this is nothing even close to the look or feel Archer and Armstrong should have.
Just my opinion.
This is not the book I was hoping for.
Any idea when we might find out the teams or at least who did the art on these teasers?
All the logos have been perfect, btw.
This A&A is very different from the other images, but I love the line art. Almost looks like Ricardo Burcelli. It may sound weird, but seeing that image, I could see Brian Wood writing this book.
Teasers are by:
X-O Manowar - Jelena Kevic Djurdjevic
Harbinger - Doug Braithwaite
Bloodshot -
Archer & Armstrong - David Aja
Glad you like the logos! Makes all the work on them worth it!!

Hhhmmmmm. Not a big fan of the art here at all. It's very hard to forget what BWS gave us first time around. A and A should have better

Re: Archer & Armstrong!
I really dig the art on the A&A. It captures the washed up, don't-really-have-it-all-togetherness that I would expect from Archer & Armstrong. They're not the JLA with satellites and planes and stuff, they look like they are waiting for the bus, or trying to figure out where to crash for the night.

I'm glad the A&A teaser art is different than the other 3, it need to be a different book. I love the feel of it.

Re: Archer & Armstrong!
I loved Aja's art on Immortal iron Fist. Nice choice of artist, and I think he could fit these characters well. I hope he is doing interiors, but whether that is a hope too far, I don't know obviously.
The fact is there is only one BWS type artist, and that is the man himself, so maybe it is better to try something distinctive in a contrasting way, like this.

From the USA Today article:
http://www.usatoday.com/life/comics/sto ... 53421880/1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
"Obadiah Archer is the greatest martial artist in the Valiant Universe and an 18-year-old guy raised by The Sect, an extremely powerful conspiracy that secretly runs the world. Armstrong is the man Archer's sent after to kill in God's name to stop the end of the world, and he happens to be a hard-drinking, 10,000-year-old immortal cynic.
This unlikely pair of new best friends teams up in Van Lente's Archer & Armstrong to scour the globe for an ancient doomsday device to keep it from bringing on the same cataclysm that destroyed civilization eons ago."

A tie-in to December 2012, or will that be too soon to resolve that storyline?Daniel Jackson wrote:Very nice touch with the ancient doomsday device scenerio. Me likey.myron wrote:interestinggreg wrote:From the USA Today article:

Re: Archer & Armstrong!
I think Archer and Armstrong sounds interesting I like the Doomsday idea. Sounds like all the heroes will come together at the end to save the world from the Doomsday device and it will probably introduce a few new characters who also come to the heroes aid like a certain cajun crimefighter

It says in the USA Today article that Fred Van Lente did Amazing Spider-man, but there's no mention of that in his Wiki bibliography... anyone know what issues he did? It seems like the style of Spider-man would fit well with A&A.

Google Clayton Henry. I'm not familiar with his work, but what I see popping up looks AWESOME! I think I may like his stuff more that Nord, which is saying something! (And I don't think he drew the preview poster, so some of you can breathe easy)

I don't know if Marvel Adventures Spider-Man has changed since I read it, but it wasn't very good... Re: Archer & Armstrong!
Sounds like it will be interesting.
Wish they hadn't called it Archer and Armstrong.
Archer the would be assassin doesn't remind me much of the book I loved.
I really don't understand why they have to change things. Why not just write a new book?
Let's make it darker and more brooding like Wolverine cept with a crossbow, yeah, kids love that.
I reread A&A last night. It is still brilliant.
I know, I know wait and see. A&A was one of my favorite books, and so far this reboot has a nice logo and everything else I have seen makes me not even want to get the first issue.
I will of course and I hope I am wrong, but this just doesn't even seem close to me.
