Hmm....so that's not a girl in the Harby pages? The only panel that the hooded coat person looks like a guy is the last one, the rest all have a feminine look to them. Must have been deliberate on the part of the artist, because none of the soldiers look like girls, so it can't just be the regular style of the artist.

Re: HARBINGER ANNOUNCED!!!!!
First off, this is awesome news. The art looks great and the general idea of the story looks a little more plausible and sensible than Shooter's original. I do hope Harada (whoever he/she is now) and Peter are the main characters. Their conflict was what really drove it to me. Well that and Torque creating Magnus with Kris, but that probably won't happen now.
I can see lots of ways they can incorporate Rai and the Psi-Lords concept in the present. However when I asked VEI on Twitter about this very idea, they seemed to reply that they were going to make use of the 41st century.etos45 wrote:But now they have Rai and Psi-Lords in the future and they have no business in the present time. BloodShot and Hard C.O.R.P.S. are ways they can do it in the present, lol.

There's a very interesting story to where that story comes from. It involves certain Valiant creators, as I understand it.Brother Darque wrote:Nothing beats a bud!!!

If you include Rai on present times, then you kill Bloodshot. Rai needs to be in the future for this to work. It doesn't need to be 4001, but it has to be distant. Besides, Japan in the future is AWESOME!

I wonder if it is an a.s.o.t.a.t.e (clear plastic cover) witht the words on, and the art the main cover.
just as one of the links said it is the cover for issue one ~ looks more like a first page to me.
to me unhooded, he still looks like any other guy regardless. If it was BWS no one would ever know either way.

Re: HARBINGER ANNOUNCED!!!!!
I know this hijacks the post a bit, but remember the Christmas card.
Looked like Rai, not Bloodshot.
I keep thinking the Rai and Bloodshot will be intertwined in THAT book.
Sorta a Bloodshot 5 thing.

Woo hoo. Just found out and this is very cool! I was pretty jazzed about X-O coming out, but this Harbinger series has me even more psyched.
Up next...Bloodshot.

Just saw the sample pages for the first time and sorry but the art looks terrible, and where's the writing? Don't mean to rain on their parade as I hope they succeed...

A Rai / Bloodshot split type of book would be ideal. Since they seem to be going so heavily with the Immortal Iron Fist creators - Simmons, Aja, Evans, it wouldn't surprise me if this is the route they took. In IIF, it would switch focus between the past and the present and it was awesome. I'd love something like that for Rai and Bloodshot. Bloodshot as just a shoot them up guy like he was in VH1 doesn't interest me at all.

Everyone has there own opinion but in this case you are in the minority. I have heard nothing but praise for the pages shown and that's away from this site.ilan wrote:Just saw the sample pages for the first time and sorry but the art looks terrible, and where's the writing? I think they'll be fine based on what I've seen. I don't know what kind of art you like, but that art is all really nice and in line with other modern books. It kind of has a Rodin Esquejo look to it. I think it will go over very well.

As far as I'm concerned, the art of A&A after BWS left is the gold standard by which all bad art is judged. Just sayin'. For me, the art worked just fine and am STILL psyched about this.

I sure hope that's the case. It would be a great waste of a very cool/unique premise if they don't.Ross2 wrote:First off, this is awesome news. Re: HARBINGER ANNOUNCED!!!!!
That's what I'm voting for. I'm honestly not sure that either title is strong enough to stand on its own (but that could just my thinking this second) plus it adds a way to touch on the future Valiant without having to have too much going on (title-wise). Not to mention, anything that can help reduce the total number of titles at the end is perfectly fine for my wallet.400yrs wrote:A Rai / Bloodshot split type of book would be ideal. Re: HARBINGER ANNOUNCED!!!!!
While I agree that a future Valiant world would be nice to revisit, I don't see why Rai and Bloodshot can't co-exist. Rai was a regular guy with Grandmother enhanced skills for 100s of years before goatee Rai used the Blood of Heroes. Personally I am hoping for the "normal" Rai of Tohru Nakadai.etos45 wrote:

Re: HARBINGER ANNOUNCED!!!!!
Well, from a purely realistic point of view, I don't think readers will want to bother with both a Rai and a Bloodshot, who both look pretty similar, running around in the same time. I think the reason that the too titles worked in the past is because of the vast amount of time that separated the two. That way the two stories could feed off of each other more. It's the same reason I think the titles would work better as one book instead of two.Ross2 wrote:While I agree that a future Valiant world would be nice to revisit, I don't see why Rai and Bloodshot can't co-exist. From a story point of view, it just wouldn't make sense. Rais were modeled in Bloodshot's image, so that would no longer be feasible if they're both part of the same time period. So let's say Valiant decides to erase that part of the story... why are they both there? Why not just have a bunch of people that resemble the Eternal Warrior running around instead? I just don't think good stories could be told from that. Didn't the second iteration of Magnus try to stick him in present day? It's my understanding it didn't go very well and that's without having another mock-Magnus running around with him.
