One thing that was said at the Jeopardy/Poker Game:
Dino: "Fred how many books have come out late while you were publisher?"
Fred Pierce (Valiant Publisher): "None"

How many books have come out while he has been publisher - late or early?

VEI - I look forward to you one day publishing MORE than 9-10 books per month

Okay, the wrong first:FormerReader wrote:...What do you all think they have done right or wrong so far?
Having little obvious publishing direction for so long, and arguably focusing on fanfare around other media stuff and not on the comic books.
The right:
Getting in an editor in chief and publisher who together seem determined to set VEI up as publishers of comics; as an outsider looking in I never felt that VEI had that before. My confidence in those two is a lot stronger, so much stronger, than the lack of confidence I had in VEI as a publishing entity before they came aboard.
I think the right will outweigh the wrong if VEI set themselves a realistic and sustainable strategy. I think there is an obvious core of fans ready to support them, but there are maybe a number of mis-steps to overcome in the minds of some, myself included. The presence of Pierce and especially Simons goes a heck of a long way towards that for me personally, and I wonder if a few other acknowledged doubters feel the same? Ultimately the truth for the comic book fans will only be in new comic books, and on that matter time will tell.
VEI - I look forward to you one day publishing MORE than 9-10 books per month

Re: Valiant Release
So along with X-O Manowar, what other books are the publishing in 2012? Do we know yet?
I saw the Bloodshot art, and references to Quantum & Woody. How about Gilad and his brothers? Rai? Harbingers? Starwatchers (come on, I liked them!).
So if there is no Solar, Magnus and Turok, will we see version of these characters to fill in the gaps or is the new Valiant just going to ignore kung-fu future robot fighting, all-powerful introverts and dinosaur killing Native Americans?

Re: Valiant Release
Harbinger, Bloodshot and Shadowman are confirmed ... the associated press version of today's news also mentions Archer and Armstrong and I believe Rai was in that story too. Dino says Valiant will "got goat" in 2012 so Q&W are back as well I guess. I don't think we have heard definitively about Eternal Warrior but if A&A is back, Gilad can't be far behind.

Re: Valiant Release
It seems Valiant is hiring the correct talent required to be successful and it seems they are not going to rehash the old stories, while staying true to what made them popular back in the day.
I'm pretty excited for the relaunch.

Re: Valiant Release
Besides Rai and maybe Starwatchers, who else is there in the 40th Century? Most likely the new Valiant will probably just ignore all the 40th century stuff. Too bad.

Here is my guess:Ross2 wrote:So along with X-O Manowar, what other books are the publishing in 2012? Do we know yet?
May = XO #1
June = XO #2 & Harby #1
July = XO #3, Harby #2, Bloodshot #1

In addition, I'm right.

Yeah I shouldn't have used Torque because Magnus's daddy is wholly owned by VEI already. I'm glad though you guys got where I was going.
