Well... its not a Dead Universe any longer...

Comic universes no longer active, Bravura, Continuity, CrossGen, Future, Malibu, Ultraverse... and others that are 'no longer with us' today (or only recently brought back).

Well... its not a Dead Universe any longer...

Post by Knightt »

This message board is essentially about a Dead Universe comic, Valiant.

I am happy to say that it is no longer a Dead Universe. While not yet in print or on the stands, all we have to do is wait until May 5, 2012 for Free Comic Book Day to have a new Valiant comic back in our hands, then to begin putting NEW comics in our comic book boxes. This is a case of "Where Dead is Dead" is not always "Dead."

Good news... indeed.

Dinesh and to all those involved in this endeavor, Good Luck from the Dead Universe Section. I hope that these books never grace my Dead Universe comic book boxes again.

Long Live the Fighters.

So for all the Dead Universes rising should we start a Zombie Universe Forum? :?

I am sure that more than one are once-and-future dead universes. Atlas especially.

Wow that fan art is great.
Fits in perfect with the new line.

Since I only collect dead comic lines, I would have to drop animal man and valiant - I don,t think so 8-) :P

Dynamite just put out a PSP card set during the last SDCC. While that is not comics, I am not sure as I would count them as dead either. Maybe the story is told, I wouldn't know as I have yet to read every single issue. Has there been an official statement issued stating their status ?

It is looking like they are indicating new books published before the end of 2012.

But then again they said the same about 2011.

I will see if I can dig up the relevant posts from the DE board.

Black Terror #14 will be shipping in a month, and at the end of the year we'll be introducing more titles. We want to get a wider audience, and with the fans help, we will get there.

The Ghost will be part of it.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

best!

...But seriously, we only publish characters we love, and when we launch, we don't know if it's going to succeed, fail, or somewhere in between. We have a feeling, we have a hope, we push as much as possible, but we don't know. And when a series is not working, we do have to figure out a way to work with creators to figure out how to make it work for a larger audience of fans.

There are many series that we've had to refigure how to make them work. And there are series that take a long time to come together.

Project Superpowers will hopefully launch this year. We need to get the right creator who will not only tell a good story but who can bring in the largest audience possible.

I hope that the above helps.

I'll try and make myself more available for the message boards. We juggle a lot here, so it's hard, but will do so whenever possible.

best!

Nick
