Simonson's Thor run
Sometimes I want to catch up on Spawn since issue 20, but then I come to reason and ignore the thought.

Re: What series or runs haven't you read that you want to
Star Brand and Justice both have brilliant runs, imo. As you know, Peter David took over the writing chores on Justice. Can't remember exactly which issue that happened. Shooter scripted the first 6 Star Brands, and plotted the 7th, which had a Roy Thomas script. I loved that series until Byrne too the helm. That said, we never would've had The Pitt without Byrne.Cyberstrike wrote:Terry Moore's Echo

Re: What series or runs haven't you read that you want to
Great topic for a thread. This is the question I've been asking myself lately. Without directly answering right away, I will say my strategy has become to identify a run I may want to read, and buy four consecutive issues of it to check it out, then start piecing it together if it's a go.

Miller's DD may be the best run I've ever read, so that's a great choice IMHO.

Finished the complete Echo trade last week. Shocked that it was as good as it was. Probably helped that my expectations weren't high. Looking forward to reading Moore's new Rachel Rising Series.Cyberstrike wrote:Terry Moore's Echo

I bought this series first four issues, then gave up on it because of the delays in between issues. I hate waiting for bi-monthly books, and this one was just crazy delays. I really liked the concept though, but man, the delays just got to me.Second_Death wrote:Rasl

Re: What series or runs haven't you read that you want to
Your first and last are the same as what I was thinking. I had the first Akira trade from Dark Horse about 10 years ago but never got the others, so I'm going to give it another try. Then if I'm feeling REALLY ambitious I'll pick up the complete Lone Wolf & Cub.xodacia81 wrote:In order of what I'd do:dbngaa wrote:Too many to list that I want to read one day, but here are the 5 currently in my possesion and awaiting reading time.

I think I bought the first four as well and tired of delays. Instead, I've been picking up the over-sized trades. You can get them pretty cheap and I like the size.

No idea. I'm not really keeping up with it. I'm just picking up those big trades when I see them. My guess would be yeah, because it's a one-man show. I think the book was initially intended to be quarterly, but I guess it's not even making that.

The entire run of Animal Man is one of the best DC titles I have ever read. I find Delano's run to actually be better than Morrison's. I wish DC would put the entire series out in trades. Even if it is b/w Showcase Presents style trades.Jersen wrote:This is gonna be my next big reading project after I finish reading the Alan Moore Swamp Thing run. I guess with the new 52 title being well rec'd they may well do that dude. They just managed to get out the 1st volume of Hellblazer finally after all these years. Re prints 1 to 9.
I thought Delano's run on Hellblazer was simply the dogs bollox. I did like Morrison's run, just not as good as some folks say.

Delano's Hellblazer has been ace of what I've read. His Animal Man was ok, personally Morrison's run is my favourite run on any comic ever so not quite up to that standard.Draco wrote:newt138 wrote:The entire run of Animal Man is one of the best DC titles I have ever read. I've been buying it faithfully since it began, and there have not been any delays for nearly the past year. It's been faithfully arriving on a bi-monthly basis. I'm well behind in reading the series, but I've been picking up all the issues as they come out.400yrs wrote:Lightning Strike wrote:Is the book still having delay issues?

Has anyone but me kept up with Dave Sim's Glamourpuss since it began? I personally have really enjoyed this, it's unlike any comic publication I've ever seen, and he's been absolutely on-time with it since he began. Say what you want about Sim, but he's apparently running his one-man show the right way.

Sad to say that I've stopped getting it. Not that I didn't enjoy it. I just stopped buying new books and since I don't order books from a service, I never find copies of it, as no stores seem to order enough to have copies on the shelf. I intend to get caught up at some point. Who knows, I might wait to get them when they are available from Comixpress.Jersen wrote:Has anyone but me kept up with Dave Sim's Glamourpuss since it began? Re: What series or runs haven't you read that you want to
Now that I'm using DCBS for getting new books, I've been saving alot of money and keeping up with things much better now. Glamourpuss is the only book that I can't seem to find on their site, though. I don't think it's distributed through Diamond, so that may be why I can't find it on their site. I've been ordering it as back issues on MyComicShop.com, but would like to get them as they are released. Does anybody know if Glamourpuss is available through DCBS and I'm just missing it?Brother J wrote:Sad to say that I've stopped getting it. Not that I didn't enjoy it.
