Just checked my DCBS order and I have credits for Doctor Solar #9 and #10. I guess #8 really was the last issue

If I win an argument, it doesn't mean I'm right. It means I'm a better arguer.

In addition, I'm right.

My hope more lingers with a coinciding event next year... 2012... I know, I know.

I am just STILL hopeful.

According to the Mayan calendar, the world ends the week before those issues are scheduled to come out. Bummer.

Also scheduled that week, the last issue of 1963, issues 3-12 of Big Numbers, John Byrne's Compleat (because he's Canadian) The Last Galactus Story, The Miracleman Library, and Planetary 28.

I know that every writer and artist has some unfinished project in their career that their fans are clamouring for them to complete, and that if they actually spent time doing that it would probably keep them from pursuing new things...
But when scripts are done, or even entire issues are completed but never printed, it just seems like it would be easy for the owners of those issues to at least put them up on the internet - free or pay. I'm re-reading Alan Moore's Supreme right now, and I know that there are 3 or 4 issues at the end that were written, and maybe even partially drawn, but never published. Come on Liefeld, take some of that Kirkman money and put those issues out. You know it would sell.
And look at that Secret Weapons 22 (was it 22?) that the board member put together. Or Iggy compiling the Turok/Shaman crossover art. If FANS can do it, then why not professionals? And I guess the answer would be time and money.
Hopefully VEI will be successful enough that some of these issues might see the light of day in the future. That's assuming they have the rights to these issues and what state of completion they might be in. I've read some of the threads on the Deadside 4 but I can't remember what the verdict was on that one.

Anyway, enough hijacking of the Solar thread by me.

Unless Kevin or smeone else responds and I feel compelled to comment more. :)

That's no surprise the editor indicated there'd be a hiatus between the current plotlines and what comes next, so it makes sense for them to cancel the rest of the issues until they're ready to be solicted again (hopefully as miniseries or series that comes out in a more regular/timely manner). I would think since work has aready been done on issues in the next plotlines (plot synopsis and covers for most of the titles and some interior art was completed on the next Magnus storyline) that if they do continue publishing new Gold Key material they'll use whatever they had been working on. Though true cancelation of some or all of the titles is always possible but, of course, that's true of any comic.
