I just noticed that the exact same book (same serial number) sold in January 2011 for $630.
I guess the seller had a bill he needed to pay and was OK with losing a little money. :o
7 of the prior sales for this issue have been over $1,250. Glad I waited! :cloud9:

I just bought a Quantum & Woody lithograph for seven pounds shipped to the states. Worked out to be $11.70. Helped that the seller called it a print.

Scored an M&M: The Swarm comic:

I figured this one would match my Cheesasaurus/KFC food comic stash.

The strangest thing was that I found it in closed auctions. It had gone by once already with NO BIDS! Thankfully, the seller re-listed.

On a side note, it arrived today. If anyone is waiting to bind their Quantum & Woody because they are looking for one... Go right ahead. There is NO WAY this could fit in a bound book. The thing is HUGE POSTER-SIZED!

Winning!

Great snag, Greg. Like you, I've been wanting one of those for a looooong time, too, and had I seen it first, I would've gladly snagged it at that price. Not suprising I didn't since it was only a 1-day auction.

*SQUEE*.

I bought a bunch of grab bags at Half Price Books during their Labor Day weekend sale. A couple for three bucks and a few more that had been marked down to a dollar. A lot of it was junk but I also hit a minor jackpot. I got nine issues of The Warlord, an issue of John Carter, Warlord of Mars, three issues of Airboy, and a handful of Valiants. Harbinger 19, H.A.R.D. Corps 9, Ninjak 2 and 5. Along with a few other comics that turned out to be better than I'd expected. Overall, I think I got a good deal.

It wasn't a great price (about average), but I think it's a great book... Dave Stevens cover. :cloud9:

So Happy got this in the mail today
http://www.ebay.com/itm/310340255744?ss ... 1439.l2649" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Secret Weapons (1993) 11B VF 8.0
Comic is autographed by writer Maurice Fontenot and artist Peter Grau and includes a Lone Star Comics Certificate of Authenticity.

Was Stoked as it was indeed a VVSS sans Certficate. It's not the prettiest but it is so welcomed in my collection.

Probably not a spectacular deal, but probably my last purchase for a while and I thought it was pretty good.

Because I am that darn active! - funny thing is BBCode works on other threads, but not this one.

I don't know what you guys are doing. Every post has the option to "Disable BBCode" right under the text, and for some reason your posts have that box checked.
I've just unchecked it. It shouldn't be checked... ever.

If you're using something other than a normal browser, it must not be showing that option and disabling BBCode automatically (which is a stupid thing for an app to do).

It is only this thread for me - I checked others and BBCode works fine. Thing is that there is no option to disable the BBCode - or smileys - or anything. Just a box to enter text.

it's true greg, it only happened in this forum and none of the others. I was using firefox. it did not even give the option to allow or disable code and smilies for this forum. now that I am on my android phone it looks fine but still does not give the options to allow bbcode and smiles. so same thing on two different devices with different browsers and different users.

Very strange!

I've just dug through the administrator control panel and changed some settings... see if it made any difference.
