In time, I would definitely like to see a crossover with X-O Manowar and Kevin from Up.
:o

Do it now!

Yanes: While the Valiant Universe has not been around as long as DC or Marvel, it still has a rich history. What are some of the difficulties of making Valiant characters feel fresh without ignoring some of the great stories that have come before?

WS: Well, the challenge is to tap into those great stories and the core concepts driving the characters and modernize them so they’re relevant to the current marketplace. We want to mine that rich history, not ignore it, but by the same token we’re not performing an exercise in continuity here.

Yanes: I’m sure there are many things going on at Valiant that you can’t talk about yet, but what are some of the things being developed that you can talk about and that fans need to look out for?

WS: We have some terrific announcements coming up, so check back with me in a few months and you’ll get the update. We believe that we’re going to make some noise come 2012 by focusing on amazing creative. Hang tight — we’re on our way.
amazing creative what...?

check out the Pierce interview too:

http://www.valiantfans.com/forum/viewto ... 699#729699
Jason Sacks: The original Valiant line was much loved by fans. How will you be striving to revive that spirit of excitement?

Fred Pierce: By focusing on what made Valiant great to begin with – telling great stories with some of the best characters in comics! We are committed to great creative and every decision we make as a company is made with that goal in mind.
I guess the creative part is still a secret.

While we have ambitious plans for the work in other media, we’re a comic book company first and foremost. Our goal is to make the best comics every single month.

Man oh man, I hope this reboot doesn't suck. I have been sulking after the demise of DK.

It sounds as if they are doing a full on reboot.

All I'm saying is, if they make X-O a chick, I'm out!

Unless of course she is really hot and doesnt wear jammies under the armor. Then I might give it a go.

Is there a more abused group of fans than comic book fans?

you mean this?:
Da New Boss wrote:...Jason Kothari. Heavy is the head, you know? Anyway, I take comfort in knowing that this is where the Universe wants us, and this is where we are.
That's a sharp wit right there.

What is the deal with the phrase "amazing creative"? I've seen it several times coming from the New Valiant, but to me, unless it's industry speak, it seems incomplete. Amazing creative teams would make sense, amazing creative by itself doesn't. Am I missing something?

We are going to focus on amazing creative.

Go for it.

I share your confusion, dave. And I've noticed that phrase a couple times myself. The first time I assumed it was a typo - a word was missing or it should have been "amazing creativity."

Amazing creative,

Creative is used as a noun, not an adjective. Creative means the writing, the art, the production, the whole shebang

I've never seen the word "creative" used as a noun. The dictionaries (both print and online) that I've referred to just now also do not show it as a noun. The noun form of the word is "creativity."

Although I understand the meaning of the phrase now, I still find it a bit awkward. There just needs to be more words after "creative." "...great creative staff." "...amazing creative focus." :?

I'm excited that these guys are so embedded in this stuff that they don't
even notice when they use terms that people like us don't understand.

Insider jargon always makes perfect sense to actual insiders. Sounds like we've got a few at VEI. :D
