Here's hoping the art is better than in VH2.
While Bloodshot vol. 2 (as a whole) was actually better than vol. 1, the _only_ art I thought was decent out of the whole '97 relaunch was Shadowman and related titles (like Deadside).
And as someone who actually enjoyed VH1 Ninjak and was *SQUEE* that ended as a cliffhanger, mid-story, the Kurt Busiek cartoony Shazam rip-off that was Ninjak vol. 2 made me want to puke.

Is it just me or does any one else miss the old VH# instead of the substituted dates?Rai-fan wrote:Here's hoping the art is better than in *Acclaim (1997 series)*.

Wow, great news. I will probably add most of the titles to my list initially and then weed out from there. Obviously we won't be surprised to see the Gold Key characters somewhere down the road now that Dark Horse is out of the picture.
What about them saying that Shooter is a great talent and they wish him well? Did anyone else here the sound of them trying to smooth things over even a little bit so they could maybe/someday work with Shooter again? Of course I'm talking years at this point

Hey you never know..could be sooner than later, you know the comics world, stranger things have happened. Might never happen too, I have hopes it does though. Maybe bring him in as a writer for a big crossover event, see how it goes. Good move on VEI's part not pushing forward with the lawsuit.

Unless I missed an announcement, I wouldn't count Dark Horse out just yet. I don't know if they ever officially said why the line is being taken down, but if it isn't because of complications with Classic Media, then I would fully expect them to at least sit on the license to see what happens with Valiant and then publish accordingly.Crow331 wrote:Wow, great news. As for the Shooter comment, I read it more like they just want to let that topic die. It seems like the "we wish him/her the best" is the generic comment you give on matters like that to avoid looking like a prick. Plus, the following statement about how the Valiant Universe is bigger than one man seemed to be aimed more at him than anyone. I would be cool if they could get him on board, but if they can manage a successful launch I guess they'll be okay either way, IMO.

Jim,
The Defiant books are still some of my favorites. Is there any chance you could elaborate on the direction you wanted to take those characters. Is there any chance we might see them again someday? Do you have any ownership of the characters you have created over the years? If you could return to any of the universes you have created, which would it be, and why?
Thanks for the great blog.
"Dear orbitalshift,
Sometime soon, I'll try to get into DEFIANT plans.
I theoretically own a small piece of the DEFIANT and Broadway characters, but whether that deal will hold up in practice, who knows? I have rights to some things VALIANT. Most of what I created was work for hire, owned, therefore, by someone else.
I like all the universes. I'd be happy to work on any of them again." Jim Shooter - 6/4/11.
SO THERE!!

Is there an actual article here? All I can see is the headline "VALIANT CEO Says Return 'Like Seeing an Old Friend Again" and two pictures.caxiotis wrote:A new valiant newsarama article came yesterday
