Auction Central, prices that stand out etc, POST HERE !!

Comic universes no longer active, Bravura, Continuity, CrossGen, Future, Malibu, Ultraverse... and others that are 'no longer with us' today (or only recently brought back).

Though it might be a good idea to add another thread, hopefully a sticky.

Post up the books you spot that are either HTF, or current/end prices are interesting and a good talking point.

This isnt bragging rights, that's here, viewtopic.php?t=24695, this is what you spotted, not what you bought, though if it's good someone can maybe snag it, or simply be amazed.

It was this book that prompted a new thread, mainly as without referring to the Topps checklist, i had no idea a JP book went this high, nor had i seen this one before.

Return to Jurassic Park 8 :o :o :o

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TOPPS-COMICS-RETU ... 1025wt_932

Currently at £4.20 with 5 bids., these books never show up in the UK at shows to my knowledge, so i can understand a Topps book like this getting a sale.

I wonder how many other issues exist like this on my DU master list that are equally obscure and HTF?

I'm sure that Jurassic park book could sell for $12-15 ... maybe even 20 ... if you gave it some time by listing it at a fixed price.

I totally agree, they really were not getting any attention as the industry had shrunk severely at that point, so i would love to know what the print runs were like.

I would be careful for what you wish for... This could turn into someone else's search engine with you doing all the work, highlighting a persons 'hidden find' and drawing unessessary attention to it. We have had problems with this kind of thing in the past.

Can you elaborate on that dude, not sure if i know what you mean?

I just wanted to highlight some cool books in auctions that seemed to be selling for prices higher than what you might expect, but if it might lead to problems then we can just delete the thread.

At one point Draco we would do such things to help out other DU collectors by posting auctions to help get good deals, people would see these posts & either jack up the prices on there own auctions or we would end up driving up prices by bidding against each other :thumb: Send PM's if you see something you think someone may be interested in :thumb:

Hey dude, after chatting with Knightt about this we both agreed that this may cause more problems that people it might help.
I originally meant it to simply showcase books we dont know much about and what they are doing when they seem high, reasons for etc etc, but as a few have said, people would use this friendly thread as a means possibly to hike prices.
Probably best to re word this or to delete all together.
