Green Lantern # 62. Holy CRAP! I mean, seriously. Wow. I've seen things LIKE this ATTEMPTED before, but I think Johns is really going for it. I don't feel any sort of reset button being put in place. For that reason alone, I am very excited. This is where "War of the Green Lanterns" unofficially begins. Yeah, yeah, "Prelude" isn't until next issues, but...did anyone else read this? In the last 3 issues or so, Green Lantern has gone from "starting to dip", all the way back up to "*SQUEE* awesome" and I am so happy about it.

Oh, and I also read Fables 102. Hmmm. Could be fun.

Where did you fall off and why? It should be easy enough to catch up. The revelation of who was taking the entities was...wow. It's huge and it is going to have major repercussions. In fact, I think it's tied in to Brightest Day, somehow.

Ouch. I understand. I've had to do the same thing, too. They've been doing two issue a month the last 2 or 3 months, but the price has been 2.99 over here in the USA, so not sure if you'll get a similiar drop in price over on your side of the pond. Maybe until you can buy them, that buddy will lend you his copies? The story is pretty fantastic right now and the same holds true for both GLC and EW.

Flash # 9, Brightest Day 19 & 20 and, DC Legacies # 9 and Green Arrow # 9.

First off, DC Legaices, which concludes with # 10. This series has been very hit or miss. Some moments have reminded me of a good attempt at redoing "Marvels", but overall the series has been flat, despite some cool moments. The backup stories are mostly forgettable. The best I can say about the series is that people unfamiliar with DC will get a lot more out of the series than those who already know it. For the latter group, they will have moments of nostalgia and that will be both positive and negative.

Flash # 9. I'm starting to wonder about Barry Allen as a character. Johns has done very little to define him as a character. This issue hints at some great things to come and I will stick with this title until Flashpoint, and probably through it, but as of now, I'm on the fence with it. The art is fantastic, but when the villains have more depth than the main character, a book lacks the balance needed to keep me around long term.

Green Arrow # 9. For a while, I was ready to give up on this. I still might do so, but I'm sticking with this until the mystery of the forest is resolved. Despite enjoying Oliver Queen/Green Arrow as a character/mythos, this new incarnation is either feast or famine. The last two issues have been pretty damn good, but it's going to take a while to get the "guck" of #'s 3-7 out of my mouth/mind. The cover art for this series remains the best DC has to offer outside of Fables, however, and is worth the price to purchase a copy.

Brightest Day #'s 19 & 20. "AquaWar"...so, that was it? It can't be all there is. Maybe it is, but...wow. If they are going where I think they are going, and the White Entity is being controlled by (GL readers might know who), then the entire universe is in deep crap. If I'm even sort of right, and it is fighting against that villain, then there is major trouble coming. The problem here is not in the revelations that have come to light, but rather in the pacing. There is so much going on that stories often get set aside for a month or two and all momentum is lost. With only 4 or 5 issues left in the series, I hope we see a tight arc to conclude things.

I think Johns was unwise to have an event centered on the Flash in the 1st year of the title. Barry needed a couple of arcs to establish his world and character. It'll work out down the road I'm sure and I feel the character is reflecting the classic version of Barry Allen whilst creating something new.

It's the true the villains have more depth that Barry, but oddly they've been around alot in the last few years compared to Barry with Salvation Run, Rogue's Revenge etc.

I agree. I think "Flashpoint" would best be done next year, not this year. Give Barry two FULL years of his "own" title to get settled in. It worked for Green Lantern, when they brought Hal back as Earth's primary Lantern. Sinestro Corps War was simply fantastic. Of course, it built on years of prior history, too, not just a couple. Somehow, with Barry, it feels as though this is a "new" character that has yet to be defined. As I said, I'm going to stick with the title into Flashpoint and probably through the end but after that, it's not a safe bet.

For the art alone it's worth every penny and they are still great reads for the rogues alone. It's just that Barry hasn't come into his own yet.

Recently read two great and emotional Marvel minis.

The first was 1 Month 2 Live - follows a guy who has cancer and only one month to live. it encourages him to live a life worth living.

after that, I read X-Men: Magneto - Testament - heart-breaking, true-to-life tale of young Magneto living in Nazi Germany's concentration camps.

I read the 1st two issues of this, it didn't gel with me and felt a little false, seemed like an interesting concept though.

I'm reading DC New Frontier by Darwin Cook.

I've heard some good things about it so I have slowly been putting a set together.

I'm in book #3. I like the art style, the setting, the "feel" of the book. Lots of character and background building.....

Hoping for some action. So far so good, but if the rest is like I've read so far I will feel a bit let down.

I read a bunch of comics today. Among those comics I read was Morning Glories TPB vol 1 (which prints 1 to 6) and issue 7. I am dropping this book and am suspicious of everyone who praised this. It is a bit too paranoid.

The first issue was really strong and then it hasn't done anything since. People are praising issue 7 saying it's the strongest since the first issue. If not, I'm considering dropping as well.
